New Makeup bag and kit organizing
Joy Klapko wrote: are your huge palettes reusable/refillable? if not, it might not be a worthwhile investment to find a case just to fit these palettes. You can easily transfer the content of your palettes into smaller refillable palettes. it'll make life a lot easier for yourself! Jan 05 09 08:36 am Link Ive been wanting to join in for ages but never get round to snapping my kit! Ask him to do the text too! lol Jan 08 09 07:46 pm Link its in southern Orange County. Im about 45 mins away from San Diego. Im on the opposite end of California hehe :-) Jan 08 09 07:59 pm Link On topic but off topic here: You know what makes me mad?? Just when I think I have everything consolidated down to the smallest full kit possible (to do makeup for women) I get called to do a "light men's grooming" in which I only take out what I need and leave the rest at home. My men's kit consisted of just my: 1 soft lunchbox full of foundations/skincare/powder 1 small Benefit box that has a bronzer with a couple of blushes 1 small kiehl's lip balm 1 mascara and 1 yaby shadow pallete (just so I could play with it on off time since I just got it) 1 peach lip liner from MUFE because I forgot to take it out from last time and a few men's hair products, a brush and a comb, and a blowdryer and flat iron. Turns out there was a miscommunication (!!) and instead an Indian doctor, a Vietnamese doctor, and a Caucasian doctor, all female needing hair and makeup walk in instead!!!! This, nor the fact that I had to go McGyver on everyone, didn't make me that mad either. What made me mad is that with these few products I was able to turn out some of the best commercial, clean, and flattering looks I've done to date on "real-women" with hardly a kit on me! Now I'm wondering why I lugged around 80% of the things I have been for the last few years!! It's maddening and I don't know how to bring myself to getting rid of a lot of it, but I just proved to myself I don't need it all! Now I'm more confused than ever. Jan 08 09 08:03 pm Link K M A wrote: Dont be mad!!! LOL. It just shows what a fab makeup artist you are. Jan 08 09 08:14 pm Link K M A wrote: I know what you mean. I am thinking about getting graftobian dual foundation to use on the men. I do not need 90% of the things In my kit to do a female actress, model, or clean look. I feel It's best to bring a lot. Things for acne, or clear skin, light or dark skin, men or women. I just love aquiring fantastic makeup! I could mix two shadows to make certain colors. When I do makeup It's for 1to 4+ people or many looks. I just do not have time to be mixing eyeshadows to get the color I want. I have tons of foundations. Now that I have rcma palette. I mainly use rcma on every model-client. Anytime I make my kit smaller someone asks for something I left at home. Pins, sewing needles, tape, random stuff. Jan 08 09 08:18 pm Link Natalie Kameroglu wrote: Ok! I know where orange county Is. hee hee Jan 08 09 08:19 pm Link jchoi makeup wrote: Some people can do anything with 4 foundations, primary colors, and 1 mascara. I'm not that makeup artist! lol I know my skills and limits. I need my kit! I gotta be ready for the female mustaches, acne, sideburns, scars, brown spots, puffy under eyes, Ingrown hairs, badly shaped eyebrows.... There Is no Photoshop on runways, stages, or red carpets! Jan 08 09 08:23 pm Link HaliSF wrote: lol , I haven't tried, other than clear before. It was another one of those things I brought "just in case". I was on a job one time where part of a guy's eyebrow was blonde but the rest dark. I had to put mascara on it to blend in. It just always stuck in the back of my mind and takes up no room, so why not. Also good for like a random gray hair that is obviously out of place. Jan 08 09 08:42 pm Link HaliSF wrote: I know!!! I want to be that makeup artist. It's like being a swiss army knife! I panic when I think of being underprepared. =*( Like when I drive to a job and I suddenly have this fear that I forgot my brushes. It's the worst feeling in the world. Jan 08 09 08:56 pm Link jchoi makeup wrote: lol... I think i forgot my brushes all the time but the worst is when I dont think I have my directions because im old school and rely on MR. Mapquest and I panic stop the car and wait look whats next to me... yes its the directions :-) Jan 08 09 09:00 pm Link K M A wrote: Sounds like you did a good job with what you had. I would had to stop at sephora, or Ulta and spent $$$ I need my kit for emergencies like that! Wow...yaby sounds so wonderful. So many people rave about It. I might have mild ocd. Cause I don't want little eyeshadows In my kit unless It an entire yaby palette. Or maybe that's my excuse to try and get that $92.00 palette. lol Yep! Jan 08 09 09:15 pm Link jchoi makeup wrote: Well I hope you can be that makeup artist! That's a good goal! Jan 08 09 09:28 pm Link ganeshkarma wrote: That's a clever idea for lipstick!
