I've only owned 2. My first was a '02 Subaru Forester. Now I own a '02 Subaru WRX Impreza which is way more fun than my old automatic.

I've also only owned 2.

2000 Saturn SL1
2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab.

I traded the Saturn in for the Dodge, and totaled the Dodge about a year and a half later. sad I miss my truck.

We now just use my boyfriend's car, 2003 Mazda Protege. I may get my own vehicle this year, I don't know. We don't really have a need yet for 2 cars.

Traded an 06 HHR for the X-Type. I like the HHR but after a guy backed into it & they wouldn't fix it right just decided the hell with it. I'll never buy another new car after that.
The XK8 I bought cheap & it's stupid fun! 150 with the top down is so flippin awesome!

Ford Fusion- Current car and I LOVE IT!!!!

Jeep Cherokee-Needed the 4x4 when I live in Michigan. Electrical system problems!

Honda Prelude-One sweet ride!! Got to about 150K miles and the engine was still sound. The interior was trashed from me using it as a grip van to carry big TK-76 video cameras and huge 3/4 inch U-Matic broadcast quality videotape recorders. As well as lights and mics and a grip kit and so on.

1996 Subaru Impreza sedan, current vehicle. Runs good, paid for.

1985 BMW 535i

1986 Nissan Maxima sedan

I like 4 door sedans, they are less expensive to insure and hold up to side impact better. Access to the rear seats is easier. They tend to be overlooked which is good when my guitars and amps are in the trunk, to say nothing of my photo gear.

I don't invest any ego into a automobile, I just want to get there.

I miss having a pickup truck, because I often need to haul large items. It would make transporting my bicycle more convenient, and picking up treasures I find easier.

I love having my front-wheel drive vehicles when I drive in snow and ice! My pickup truck always tried to fishtail when the streets were wet.

1987 Toyota Camry, "The bitch that will not die." It is said, at our house, and it's true. "That if every other car here is dead, that damn Toyota will still run." After three years, and 30K miles, I have $800 in it, not counting gas, oil, and tires. It has 230K on it.

1986 Toyota Celica GT, FS16. The legenday Haichu Rokyu, IE: The Ultimate Drift Car. It would smoke the tires all the way through first gear, spin them halfway through second, bark, them in third, and was happiest when it was bumping the rev limiter. It would only do 105MPH, but got there very quick. I didn't know what I had when I bought it, but after doing all the mainetence on it, and installing a set of used tires, I sold it for four times what I paid for it.

1986 Mercedes Benz 300E, The highest HP to weight ratio Full Size Sedan, Benz made back then. 85, felt like 55, and it too was fun. My favorite thing was to pull up to rice rockets on the interstate, and blow them away with four doors of german precision. I put a wiper blade on it, one tire, changed the oil, and put a $12 part in the engine. I sold it for double what I paid for it.

Yeah, I buy, and drive beaters, I could list ten more cars with the same results.  When I'm done with them, they either go to the junkyard, or I sell them for more than I paid for them. For what some people pay per mile, they could ride in a cab, for me, for what I pay per mile, the bus is more expensive.

With the money I save, I can buy camera gear, and afford to pay models.

I don't pay for cars, I pay for models, who don't mind a guy who drives a beater, If they'd rather do TFP for a guy with a nice car, just remember, You're paying for his car, my models aren't.

* 1974 Vespa 90
* Miyata bicycle (year unknown)
* Also sometimes drive (not own) a 90-something Toyota station wagon.

I drive my vehicles until they can't go no mo. The Ford Courier literally coasted into the dealership parking lot. The engine quit for its last time as I crossed the entrance to the parking lot and I pushed the truck to the finish line, but getting it into the parking lot under its own power enabled the trade-in.
