Hey this is a topic that has been a controversial issue lately. With the rise of certain music video models such as Melyssa Ford, KiToy Johnson, Vida Guerra, etc. and due to recent publications such as "Confessions of a Video Vixen", a debate has been going on as to whether women featured in videos are really considered legitimate models. Some scoff and call them "video ho's", while others say that they are professionals and should be treated as such. Does it depend on genre as well? Is a girl who bops around in a Blink 182 video more of a model than one shakin' what her mama gave her in a Jay-Z of 50 Cent vid? What do u think?

I don't see as the subject matter has anything to do with them being a model or not.  If that were the case, you could argue that someone doing porn work was less of a model than someone doing a runway fashion show.

Or at least thats my opinion. smile

In essence their is no difference between them. It's just terminology to me depending on where they got their start. The 1st time people looked at Ki Toy was in the Outkast video and Vida in a Ja Rule video I believe. Since that was their start they're labeled as 'Video Vixens' turned Models. Does a Blink182 video vixen have anymore credibility than a Jay-Z one? No. A Video/Magazine/Fashion Model are all models in my eyes. You've seen Video models in Print ads, and Supermodels in Video's(Iman & Naomi Campbell in Michael Jackson vids) so to me they are interchangable.

Farah....fine as you are ...What is your point?

In reading your credits looks like you have done a bit of video rump shaking yourself. Which to me is fine since you have dance experience also.

Bottom line a model is a model.  If you answered the call for a job  whether paid  merchandise comp or TFP/TFCD as a model and got hired..you a model.

Cheers and much continued sucess to you.

No no I didn't mean anything by it, I just put the question out there cuz I was curious as to how people would respond. My opinion on it is HEY DO U I don't think there is any distinction and no one should be looked down upon for what they do... but it happens ya know? LOL No I've never done a video, but who knows? But I never stated any opinion on the subject, just putting the question out there since it's a topic of debate, maybe I should have made it clear in the original post.
