Nikki Sixx (Mötley Crüe) photographer
Two part mini documentary on the Nikki Sixx (Mötley Crüe guitarist) photo project "This is gonna hurt". http://www.hulu.com/watch/227807/this-i … s-p1-sr-i0 Reminds me a lot of Mark Romanek's art direction (9 inch nails "closer", Marilyn Manson) Others are saying Joel-Peter Witkin. It's not really ground breaking, but I'm kinda diggin' it.. Thoughts? edit: Wow that title got jacked up with the odd characters in the motley crue name.. sorry about that! Apr 01 11 04:20 pm Link Pretty sure he's here on MM. Apr 01 11 04:25 pm Link GM Photography wrote: With the abundance of tits, you know he is! Too lazy to go search... Apr 01 11 04:28 pm Link GM Photography wrote: Searched, he had a profile under his name, made two post. That profile is gone. Now he may be back with a different name or different profile. Apr 01 11 04:33 pm Link GM Photography wrote: he canceled his account a couple years ago. Apr 01 11 04:34 pm Link I really hate that old film effect on the video - it's a little over done and it annoys me quite a bit, lol Apr 01 11 04:35 pm Link Bill Tracy Photography wrote: You're joking right? Just want to make sure. LOL Apr 01 11 04:36 pm Link If he is on here I am sure he is under a different profile name. His original account was 1039134 I exchanged a couple emails early on. He is a true lover of photography and really wished to be taken serious for his photography...but people on here just wanted to talk about his music. I know he was a fan of Jan Saudek as well as Joel peter Witkin. Apr 01 11 04:37 pm Link I had not really look into his work and not seen that video. I am impressed he does that type of work, not the kind of work I would have expected. I mean the style of work. Apr 01 11 04:40 pm Link GM Photography wrote: He was here once. He asked that people talk to him about photography and not music. You can imagine how that went. So the last I saw, his account was canceled. He is a great artist. Apr 01 11 04:41 pm Link It looks like there's going to be a lot of really powerful images; I'm curiosu to see where it goes Apr 01 11 04:44 pm Link GCobb Photography wrote: I would have talked to him about photography and not music. I wasn't really that big of fan of Motley Crue. LMAO Apr 01 11 04:45 pm Link Apr 01 11 04:52 pm Link Bill Tracy Photography wrote: I like the effect, but not as heavily done as on this video. It makes it hard to watch. And as much of a fan of his work as I am, I only made it about halfway through before having to close that tab. Apr 01 11 04:53 pm Link Never met him (hopefully will one day) but he seems like a really cool dude and has nice work. I have a soft spot for musicians/actors who are also serious about art. Apr 01 11 04:58 pm Link GM Photography wrote: He's in my friends list Apr 01 11 06:02 pm Link 976 Photography wrote: Yeah, I knew I had breezed through his portfolio the other day. A number of photographers I know are also musicians (not as high profile). Creative people can have more than one outlet for their creativity. Apr 01 11 08:24 pm Link Here is a shot from his old MM Port. I could never tell if it was really him. Apr 01 11 08:31 pm Link Albertex Photography wrote: His "old" port was verified by the mods and I remember that image from it. There was a thread started by Dean a few years back about his profile being approved here. Now, what they did to verify that it was really him is anyone's guess. There is usually something that's asked from a particular member to insure they're not just saying they're someone else. He is also the "Owner" of Motley Crue, the name, etc. and the brains behind the band. Apr 01 11 10:53 pm Link |
