Paid shoots.
Hey guys, quick question! When you pay models to shoot do you file that with your taxes or is it under the table? Aug 08 05 05:06 pm Link It's a business expense like buying a new light meter. And if the photographer files the business form (can't recall the number off the top of my head), it's included. I love it. No problems at all with the IRS. I do what I am supposed to do and no more. And if you pay a model more than $600 a year you are supposed to file a tax statement for her or to her. I forget that form number. So I never work a model more than $600 for the year. bs Aug 09 05 09:42 am Link Form 1099, misc income. Be sure to get models SSN. Also, keep receipts for meals, lodging, props, clothing, etc, where applicable. Some things are subject to 50% claim.
