A bit of clarification: If you would like to classify me; the correct term would be MISANTHROPE (someone who dislikes other people and avoids involvement with society). The other day I was called a misogynist, that would be quite unfair to men.

The problem is some websites don't have a telephone number(s), so would not touch them with a barge pole, it also could be a scam, this is a widespread problem. As much you can email them they can just simply ignore emails unlike a ringing phone. I haven't done this before, but I think you can ask the website holder for more info

Caller ID & voicemail have made hiding from unhappy customers way too easy with a phone, almost the entire US has both of those.

I should clarify that, besides being a pinup artist, my day job for 18 years has been marketing director at a magazine subscription agency, and I am familiar with publications going out of business. Normally, publishers try to find similar titles to fulfill the balance of the subscription of the original title. Carrie's husband, who is VP of NUDE, pointed out to me today that, because NUDE was so unique in content and print quality, it would be impossible to do that. Rather, he said, they are going to issue prorated refunds to anyone due any issues, because "it's the right thing to do. It just will take time."

Sounds reasonable - and I think between you, him & the managing editor on here it will be done well, there are too many eyes on this for this to continue badly.

I'm not involved with management of NUDE at all....our agency offered the title until last year, and for full disclosure, my artwork was published in NUDE. This decision was made by Carrie and her husband. They are nice people, and I applaud them for doing this.

As a fine art photographer who would have loved to grace the pages of this fine magazine I am saddened to hear of their problems. I bought the magazine each time I could find it on the news stands. I have never seen people who were bitching about a few dollars they lost because of the magazine having to stop publication What you should do is STAND UP AND CHEER for their effort, their quality and the guts it takes to try something and take the risk. Carrie, and all the people who were part of her team should stand proud. Sure who wouldn't be upset that they wern't getting issue but WTF shit happens. Do you think they got rich over not sending you the mag.... I am sure they have lost almost everything and that closing wasn't done to hurt people, their customers. Consider you subscription as an investment, in a tough market publishing what we like high quality nude magazine of fine art images. What you should be pissed about is Playboy... have you seen the quality of that magazine or Penthous, Husltler and all the other porn that is out there trying to pass themselves off as quality. Barnes and Noble is full of shit passed off as men's interest and books stores who stopped carring Carrie Leigh's Nude or Australian Black and White magazine should be ashamed. Come on whiners get past that and continue to take a chance on those who are trying to publish high quality fine art. Have you even tried to by a photobook at Barnes and Noble? Almost impossible unless your Ansel, Jock or Anne.... Carrie et al .... You go Girl Risen Phoenix

This sort of conversation doesn't make a bad situation any better, and while I think people posting here were originally fairly ambivalent about this, all that these posts serve to do is make NUDE look bad. People have a legitimate concern and complaint, and being dismissive, rude, and condescending doesn't inspire anyone to defend the magazine, especially if this is how its representatives treat paying customers.
