charge whatever makes you happy.

if you're happy at $25 a hour go for it.  If you're more happy at $100 / hour, and you can find customers , then do that.

dont over think it, dont worry about what others charge.

Be a rebel.

Hi I'm deaf and wondering if that picture means anything to tell photographe'sr point of view on working with me.  Usually most photographers or agencies denied me because of my deafness without checking my work. So what if I use that picture to introduce them to get out of comfort zone not thinking about my deafness would prevent them work with me?? Thought. Feedback. Suggestions?

Why would anyone deny you because you're deaf? That seems bizarre to me and super poor professionalism on their part.

It is unfortunate if someone will not hire you because of something which can not be captured in still photography and has little impact in any other forms of photography...

Now, personally I have some reservations against purple of pink or such alternate hair colors...but I think you are a very beautiful model and if you were in DC area one would get a bargain to hire you a $50/hr.

Jorge,
For sheer conceptualization alone you should be paid at least $200/hr - you have avant garde ideas, you bring art to the table. But I am not a huge fan of your shadows work - and that is a personal opinion only.

Yes I would suggest your going rate for non-commercial rate should be $ 200/hr. WHen I say non-commercial, I mean not for something when you are hired to cover a product, an advertisement or such similar projects.

You are beautiful Marla and you are very expressive. If you were in DC area I would pay you $65/hr. BTW: pardon my ignorance - what is continental?

Tiffany - I feel you are better suited for the ramp rather than the print media. I would suggest some work on expressions...For now, I would pay $40/hr

Would you mind elaborating a bit on diversifying my portfolio? I assumed my response would be somewhere in that ball park. I have more images, but are you referring to more models, or different styles? I have just hit my 1-year mark from picking up my first camera.

Justin,
WHat I meant was have a well rounded portfolio that stands out. Outdoors, indoors, Studio settings, Landscapes, lifestyles, portraits are are genres you could think of.

Joanee,
You have a very pretty smile. But for an actress I would expect a wide range of emotions/expressions in your portfolio. Dont you think?

I am unwilling to say TFCD but I will be hard pressed to pay you more than $30/hr in DC area.

Great potentials and awesome camera angles. But your port lacks variety to be marketable. I shall have to say TFCD for now.
