Not a fan i'm sorry to say.  Your portfolio is full of creativity and class and this just doesn't measure up for me.

You have some quality images in your portfolio, this is not among them.

I fel like the body paint deserves better. Overall it's being controversial just for the sake of it?

Your other work is much more sophisticated.  This picture is a bit trite.

Confucious say, the path of the Gi Jesus is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. And he will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy his tao brothers. And you will know he is the Gi Lord when he lay his vengeance upon thee

Gi Jesus saves

Love it!

But.... you needed to have the hands and feet pinned to the model's flesh (shopped not literally of course) with the droplets of blood coming from her skin.

How could you have missed that? My faith is wavering (see what I did there?).

Are you looking to take over for Warren?

I don't like it. It feels like you're trying to say something, but I have no idea what it is.

based on your profile, your portfolio, the definition of "art", and the fact that I have done controversial religious themes many times [as a photographer and as a galleried multimedia artist], no shakes here. I still have not gotten over that work from years ago, "Piss Christ". It pretty much supersedes most controversial religious art I have seen.

I do have one note: the white might have been better on Jesus left. Historically, the right hand means life in religious symbolism. But at his crucifixion, it was the thief on his left that found forgiveness and salvation. the thief on the right most likely dropped off into the abyss [black]. depends on how you want to play the color significance.white=purity, blue= heaven, brass= judgement, silver= redemption, red= sacrifice, purple= royalty, yada yada yada when it comes to Judaism color themes.

I would delete from port. I'm all for controversial pics (especially if they piss off the Church!) but it's just a bad photo and detracts from the quality.

this is part of my comment on the image in the OP's portfolio.

"note: everyone knows that Jesus was "special forces", not regular army. in literature, the breasts are the sustenance of life, while the loins are the source of life. Christ's body, in this image, mark both of those sources. fundamental Christians see Jesus as both of these ideals, through his life and death and resurrection. so..............????"

I can do this observation, signs and symbols thing all day long, every day. ultimately, art is meant to invoke an emotion, a response. under that definition, the image is "art".

if it is not your cup of tea, NEXT! best wishes!

Why isn't there a little Jesus on the cross that Jesus is wearing? Timeshift?

The image to me is weak. I like the contrast of textures and components, but the lighting is flat and the model isn't projecting tension, she's kind of just standing there. It would be improved if she were standing on her toes, so she had to fight a bit for balance. It would bring more energy. The idea is sound, but for me it needs more dynamic posing, more directional lighting and a tighter crop.
