I has a sad sad

We can't have a real tree anymore because my mother developed a bad asthma trigger to the pine sap. So I bought a fake this year a couple weeks ago, thinking, SWEET DEAL because it claimed to have the nice frosted snowed on look. sad Opened the box today to set it up...all it is is stupid faded tips that aren't even white. sad And it looks really scrawny-- partially, I'm sure to my lackluster attempt to set it up after discovering they didn't feel like instructions were a necessary thing to include).

*bummed face*

I'm going to window shop online now and see if I can find a nicer one around the same price. Not cool, Kmart. NOT COOL.

Nooooo, because it's trying to hard! The charlie brown tree is just so sad and ugly it's cute. But my tree is like... Like when a not-horrible-looking-but-not-pretty slightly overweight 28 year old thinks she's going to model for Vogue Italia. sad

My tree is a poser.

ps; do you have a link to the reindeer cookies? I WANT.

This makes me feel even worse for your tree! it isn't even ugly enough to love lol

My advice?

Cover it with tinsel, lights and garlands and stuff very heavily and it'll look great!

Nah, if I hate it this much in the morrow still, I'll just buy a nonfraudulent regular pre-lit that doesn't try to pass itself off as flocked. I paid $79 bucks for this stupid thing mad THERE WERE CHEAPER ONES. *raaaaaaaaage* But I picked it because of the high # of tips and the fact that it claimed to be flocked. mad

*takes imaginary valium*

Okay, HAPPY THOUGHTS AMERICA. HAPPY THOUGHTS.

I really want that reindeer cookie yikes

For me, christmas is an entirely secular experience, so here's my list:

1) warm drinks with alcohol (mostly rum)
2) decorations that make the room look magical
3) the xmas tree
4) My cat's response to the xmas tree
5) giving/getting gifts
6) merry making around a warm fire
7) xmas lights and decor
8) time off
9) xmas music
10) xmas tv specials
11) JK's Solstice Cider
12) making/eating xmas candy
13) spending time with my family
14) long evenings playing Halo with my son
15) first xmas 'married' to my wife (still sound weird to say)
16) xmas photography (which I'll include some of here):

I'm religious myself, but plenty of non-religious reasons to love christmas!

*lots of baked goods (preferably homemade, so the house smells like baked goods as well)
*lights lights lights
*watching Annie (or some other typical christmasmovie they air every year) for the 17th time, which normally would annoy the crap out of you but because it's christmas it's nice
*how the cat reacts to the tree
*shopping/making gifts for loved ones
*christmasmusic (the good kind)
*...

Yaaaaaay.

I think I'm trying to gear up for December 1, when it really starts to feel like the holiday season. It's still a little tough in November.

These lists are awesome. Cannot waaaait to be in December!!!!
