Please list yourself if you are a model that can do yoga. If we get enough listings, I will organize it by location.

You don't have to be a crazy, bendy person, but you should be able to do all the basic poses. In other words, if you can do a hand stand, or other inversions, you should be on this list.

I'm not advanced but have been doing basic yoga to keep flexibility/mobility after destroying my body through ballet and break dancing tongue

Some of the best yogis I have photographed have been dancers who came to yoga to heal injuries, and stayed on to become teachers.

I only do Bikram.  The poses are not the same throughout all types of yoga, however.  So, asking for "all the basic poses" doesn't hold much value as some types of yoga are not as visually stunning as others.

I do yoga and tae kwon do. I'm pretty stretchy and flexible but I cannot do a handstand or a split

Sandra, its true there are different types of yoga. But when a model goes to a casting for a yoga shoot, there are some common yoga poses they are expected to be able to do.

As a photographer who has shot dozens of yoga magazine covers over the past nine years, I have been at more castings than I can remember. Maybe it would be helpful to models reading this to know the poses they may be asked to do for digital polaroids at a casting:

I used to get a decent amount of work shooting nude yoga poses. It was actually a staple of my income. Doesn't seem to be as popular as it once was.

Yes, this is an old thread I started two years ago, but I continue to have an interest in yoga models (I continue to shoot yogis and my photos appears in Yoga Journal every month).

I hope other photographers can use this list as a resource too.

If more yogi-models add themselves, and we get to multiple pages, I will be happy to organize/consolidate the list to the first page with locations.

Which is good, the concern was if you might have lost interest in the thread, and having people not realize it was a few years old, and excited over nothing.  MM has a few threads right now for lists which have lost some of their value as the OP's have moved on.

That said, it is good you are still here and will be watching over it.

Meanwhile, I'm off to invent a new yoga pose called flat on back sleeping photographer.

I have been doing yoga since I was 10 years old when my gym teacher made fun of me for not being able to touch my toes! Well now, after 11 years of practice, I'm all sorts of bendy smile I do yoga + interval training to stay in shape. Love it!
