I think I am getting the Wacom Cintiq for Xmas
My wife is saying it is something big and something I could use... around $2000... i think it is a Cintiq of some sort. Would replace my Wacom 4 Intous... thoughts from anyone that has it, worth it? what kind of gotchas? would you use it as a full time dual monitor? Dec 24 12 09:23 am Link also from the credit card receipt that I accidentally saw it must be the 22inch variety, anyone know that differences between the 22HD and the 24HD (besides size). Dec 24 12 09:26 am Link It's a complete game changer! I can't say I love it enough. It's cumbersome, and got its minor annoyances (like having to always shut down before disconnecting) which is esp annoying if your primary comp is a laptop...but it really does make editing so much more enjoyable, not to mention the time saved! Just imagine doing your editing on an lcd/digital e-paper with a pen and eraser that let you paint/erase, dodge and burn and mask/revise, etc with the accuracy of a pencil. It's that good. Enjoy!!!! Happy Holidays! Dec 24 12 11:47 pm Link Wow lucky and congratulations! I'm a huge fan of the Cintiq over the Intuos. I'm a digital painter and draw a lot too, so that makes the Cintiq especially more enjoyable. Dec 25 12 12:36 am Link any differences besides size between the 24 and 22? Dec 25 12 02:32 am Link Lucky you!! Thats an awesome christmas gift! Dec 25 12 02:46 am Link sultanphotography wrote: Well I guess it would depend if it was the new touch vs the non touch variety. I looked at getting the touch a while back but changed my mind. I really like the fact that on the 22 you can turn the whole screen like a piece of paper. Dec 25 12 03:26 am Link of course i am just assuming! hahah... i am so excited I can't sleep... want everyone to wake up so we can open presents Dec 25 12 04:08 am Link Congrats! I love mine. Here's a few things I noticed: If you get a screen protector, get a custom size one because the people who sell the cintiq model protectors stop where the screen stops, as opposed to covering the whole glass-like surface area. I still cant find a good place to put my regular sized keyboard, so I got a small bluetooth keyboard that kinda sits at the top. It's great, you'd think it came with the cintiq, and I'm too addicted to my hot keys to leave them behind Mine is without the touch feature, but honestly I think it would be annoying as the screen is so big I tend to rest my arm or wrist on the screen (lightly) when I draw (or type, since my keyboard rests on the top boarder). Microfiber clothes are your friends Here's an image to better illustrate what I was talking about. I don't know much about the 22hd but here is an article review: http://www.trustedreviews.com/news/waco … t-adobergb Cheers **Edit** Doh! Missed this: sultanphotography wrote: I'll leave my post in case someone else gets a 24hd. Dec 25 12 08:27 am Link Hmm, that's what I was wondering with the touch version... Would your hand or wrist trigger movement in the screen. I have been googling a lot of cintiq stuff but have found pretty much the same tutorials all over. I thought I would like the touch because I have an iPad but I like that with the older cintiq you can turn the screen, but I also like the fact that you can position the new cintiq to lay flat without rolling off the desk. I really like the idea of the Bluetooth keyboard.... And that's the first mention I have heard of a screen protector?? Dec 25 12 09:33 am Link YES just unpacked this beast!!!! its the 22HD.. do I really neeed a screen cover? Dec 25 12 10:54 am Link Probably not, I might just be paranoid Also, with the Rotate View Tool in PS, I see no need to rotate the cintiq. Dec 25 12 11:32 am Link So jealous! I was just oogling these earlier tonight on the wacom website. Maybe one day! Dec 25 12 10:28 pm Link wow... so nice to be able to dodge and burn right on the screen.... Are you doing new things, spending more time, less time? Apr 16 13 05:18 am Link |
