On the one hand, huzzah to them for convincing tens of millions of people to happily pay for what is essentially marketing, as opposed to the product itself. On the other hand, I want an MP3 player. Just an MP3 player. I don't want an iPhone, I don't want a touch screen, I don't want a tiny movie player. I just want an MP3 player. And since Apple kinda has a monopoly on the MP3 player interface (I don't mean the headphone jack interface, but the dock interface that most bookshelf-type stereos have), I would have to get an iPod classic. But I don't want to pay $250 for a fucking flash drive, just because it's in a sleek and shiny shell and has the Apple logo on it.
