For the record, Kate Upton is all boob, no curve and not appealing IMHO.
She is cute and fun with the giggly if you're into that, but meh

I think she's supercute and supergorgeous, in her own way smile. Is she my favorite? no, but I do like lots of different types of models!

Can I just vote for myself and get it over with? big_smile

OP one thing you might want to take into consideration is the increase in popularity of the retro pin up look over the last several years. This is a look that is not as effectively portrayed by less curvy body types.

I agree with everyone who said that slim & curvy are not mutually exclusive definitions. I will be honest... I'm not picky when I'm viewing an attractive woman but a noticeable hourglass figure will wow me every time (especially if it's natural) and then the size of said hourglass is virtually an afterthought.

Just my personal opinion.

Isn't it odd that women are critiqued more than men?
I respect everyone's personal taste even if it's not my own.

well, in that part of the modelling world there's far more women then there are men... but yeah, way too much critique smile. and most of it is from other women, that's the worst!

I'm so drawn to her for some reason.

She's flippin adorable and seems to have such a bubbly, fun personality. The boobs help FOR SURE but I adore her cuteness.

That is correct... but, I don't want to nick-pick and counting beans right now...

Ralph Rucci is the only American (haute) couturier per definition and former member of the French Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture.

However, if you take a look at the Wikipedia definition, (they have sources to back it up!) you will find that couture itself is now much wider defined ("Couture" means dressmaking, sewing, or needlework[1]) than the original narrow set of definition. Except for "Haute Couture" itself of course!

So... having a Couture Fashion Week (not a "Haute Couture Fashion Week"), does not conflict with the realities and definitions of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, or the rest of the fashion world!

Women like to project themselves and their personal insecurities, desires, wishes, etc. into other women.

We love to critique what we want/can't have or find intimidating to us. It's in our nature and we do it even at a subconscious level.

I even know myself that I have an obsession with full breasted women because yes they're amazing to look at but I've always desired that for myself. I envy it.

Honesty can sound damn critical if it's not in pure agreement.
I have to say though, there are many beautiful women on this site:)

It's all in the way you deliver it. Sometimes you can literally feel the sting in some people's words.

Not everyone can hide behind honesty when it's plain cruel.

If it's a direct attack of course.
Talking about a third person, albeit harsh, not so much... unless one identifies with that third entity.

I like to think of it this way, if you wouldn't say it to the person directly it's probably a bit too harsh

I think everyone just has their own tastes. All bodies are good in my eyes. Fashion is a whole different ball game. But, as long as you are slender curvy or non; and you have a certain look you are in.

Hips curves are important to perfect the look. I think the fact you spelled it out is what seperates. Kate Upton really has boyish hips, she doesn't exemplify the hourglass figure associated with curves.

Jordan, I respect what you and Udor are saying but if there was a beauty contest emphasizing curves and Kate Upton entered, all the contestants would withdrawal because Kate would be the obvious winner. The only other woman who could hope to compete with her would be Christina Hendricks from Madmen.

Great thread BTW : )

I know I wouldn't.

Why can't you just accept that either a)people have different opinions than you and/or b)waist/hip ratio is essential in defining an hourglass figure ? hmm This is the "curvy or not?" thread not the "who's got a hard-on for Kate Upton?" thread.

Kate would be the curvier choice over Christina? Really?

Slim or Curvy? I'd say curvy, like Burlesque curvy.

But hey, if the face is unusually gorgeous, I could have a hard time caring about the body.

i recently worked with a model for the 2nd time and since the first time she had gained something like 20-30 pounds and i quite appreciated the newfound curves. maybe it depends on whether you do mostly art stuff or glamour stuff.

and whatever the poll question my vote is for kate upton smile
