Legendary MM Photographers
Select Models wrote: My apologies Feb 11 13 10:08 pm Link These are four of the most inspirational MM photographers in my books... Although their work isn’t necessarily mainstream as far as commercial and fashion go, I think they still deserve to be recognized. They all have a unique, unforgettable style. Michael Walker (landscapes) Renée Jacobs also, legendary on MM.... Star I'm going to throw in Porcelain Poet too, she's not well known on here, but some really impressive work in her own style. Now, damn, it, who is that other guy..... Feb 11 13 10:20 pm Link IBS wrote: Would agree as his work is FAR above average. Also a big fan here of Julian Wilde... Feb 11 13 10:25 pm Link Select Models wrote: Again taste is subjective but I would consider Wilde to be a glamour photographer and that genre is not my cup of tea Feb 11 13 10:29 pm Link pellepiano wrote: I love Michael Rosen's work Feb 11 13 10:31 pm Link DougBPhoto wrote: Oh yah Porcelain Poet Feb 11 13 10:33 pm Link well, I wasn't aware of Boy of Blue and his creations before this thread, so thanks to whomever posted about him. That is a whole new level of photography and dedication to his craft. As far as legends go or at least people who's work I admire: Renée Jacobs Ken Marcus Stephen Eastwood Herman Van Gestel Mary Duprie (been to her amazing studio in Detroit) Robert Alvarado Stefano Brunesci Philipe Julian Wilde there are many more that I am forgetting I am sure. Feb 11 13 11:15 pm Link Don't know about legendary, but a few personal favorites on MM that come to mind, in no particular order, are.... Feb 13 13 09:37 pm Link Adam Chilson is good. https://www.modelmayhem.com/19554 Bout the time people have figured out how to make bad copies of his techniques. He's off doing some other crazy, amazing shit... Feb 13 13 11:08 pm Link Mark Laubenheimer wrote: Still here, just not on the forums lately Feb 14 13 01:03 am Link There are many excellent photographers on MM. Imo, these are the cream of the crop. https://www.modelmayhem.com/list/519407 Ken Marcus is definitely among them, but since some of my portfolio development clients are moms of 14- to 17-year-old girls who want to be models, I'm keeping this account teen-friendly. Also Jerry Avenaim, but imo his MM profile doesn't show his best work - and the list is of photographers from whose portfolios I believe other photographers can learn a lot.
