I am not sure exactly what genre of model you are or why you refer that genre as being "low lifes " Myself as a photographer I enjoy working with all genres of models ( excluding bondage ) and while I do shoot some agency models I also shoot a lot of non agency models for which I find MM to be quite helpful in connecting with such models for example I would never have met or shot with 2011 Italian Playmate of the Year Lauren Vicker ( before she reached that glory ) if not for MM To me a model is a model. I don't see any models on here referring to themselves as "fashion model". I also don't see any models that only tagged "fashion" in the list of genres they are available for. All models tag multiple genres. I'm sure Lauren Vicker does fashion shoots as well.

I shoot erotic and fetish content with models who also shoot fashion. Pornographer Pierre Woodman did a lot of fashion shoots with both porn and fashion models for various fashion and lifestyle magazines. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre_Woodman "Woodman continues to work in the fashion world, doing photo-sessions for big-name magazines (Blast magazine cover and layout Sept. 2006) and discovering fashion models from his castings. Some of his fashion models have gone on to join some of the top modeling agencies, such as Alla Krivocheeva for Elite or recently one of the finalists for Miss Hungary 2005." thats great You and Woodman , hmmm my suggestion though is that if you wish to discuss porn that you start your own thread

To the OP this decision is clearly up to YOU. It was pretty clear to me. And yeah, the ones in that range are rarified air on MM.

Well it is just the general feeling I get from some - not you necessarily - that unless we are Agency we aren't worth paying. But yes thanks for saying that MM can be quite useful because many of us have the feeling that a lot of photographers are down on us. Hence my low life quote as we do get put down a bit if we are non agency here while in 'real life' we don't. Errr...yeah I get dragged into these conversations via my batphone by others But yes that was my point: we don't know what the op is after; and we should answser a question objectively without bringing into questioning what would be best for him personally because that involves critique. The Op asked if the model quoting $150 an hour was worth it - and we don't know. I am just answerring from the avaergae models' perspective of why we can justify that though have always pointed out you'd get us all day for not much more. And I must say...kudos to you on the testimonies about both models you have cited.

100/hr seems typical for full-time professional freelancers.

The summary of this thread could be that it's all negotiable. And if two people don;t come to a agreement, then move on to someone who will.

OH thank you, thank you! Well said. My question is how much should a well maintained Ford Escort charge per hour? Laura UnBound wrote: You can buy a kia for a lot less than you can buy a porsche for. Im sure they both run. If youve GOT enough for a porsche and you WANT the porsche...why buy the kia? Because someone else tells you its stupid to buy the porsche? *I* think he should just send his $150 to me...thats some good decision making, if Im deciding what other people should do with their own money. Y'all love to undercut the models as if its your money someone else is giving away. Theres nothing poor about his decision making if HES comfortable paying the amount the model is asking for, and SHE is the model he wants to shoot.
