I had an opportunity during the last week of October 2013 to walk the closing event of Metropolitan Fashion Week in Los Angeles.

We got to strut down a huge runway at Pasadena City Hall. As a really short model, it was such an amazing opportunity, and yes, my height was definitely the exception there - I had to wear some insanely tall heels.

I was one of the models for Kicka Custom Design. She made my and the other girls' outfits shown in the following pictures below.

Official image of me shot by David Meister for the show (click to view it in my MM portfolio in bigger size!):

And the runway event itself:

... oh, and that evening of me trying to get my hair out of pompadour mode (yes, all of that was my hair piled up high!)

On the runway, the only stairs I had to take were about 5-10 of them total coming through the main Pasadena City Hall area (second picture with all the people in it). Still rough, I'll admit. It's hard not to look down!

The picture was a separate section of Pasadena City Hall that was not involved in the runway. Just photos and exploring about smile

yes, I understand, but on the runway I see a couple of stairs in the back as well, and I was wondering if you had to take those smile. Yes haha, so hard not to look down! especially in high heels. And some sort of cape. You are brave :p

Oh, yes! Those definitely had to be walked D: And there was low light in some areas of the steps, so you couldn't see them in your periph at all.

The official shot, and the runways shots are cool (congrats by the way) but I really love the pompadour images a lot. Those are epic and awesome...episome or awepic, whichever you prefer.

Wonderful!

Congratulations. smile

Jen
p.s. best advice for getting the pompadour spray, styling and mattifyer out that I heard/do is to just get in the tub and get it soaked first, then apply conditioner, soak and then shampoo. smile

Yeah, I definitely made sure to do that. I just kind of played around with it with my hands and messed it up for a set of silly photos. I did a ton of the proper haircare stuff like what you described after I was happy with my candid faces xD

Definitely smile Love to laugh. I think it's important and, best of all, it's contagious (and people are happy to catch it) big_smile
