Ever had a photographer show up drunk??
Never had a photographer already be drunk, but I did once work for an artist who became so drunk while working with me (I declined a drink because I wanted to, ya know, model well) that he was falling all over himself and making things difficult for me. It was pretty atrocious. He later asked me for feedback on working with him and I suggested to him that he not drink while working. His reply was a sea of butthurtedness, claiming that I should have had some liquor when he offered and because I didn't it was my fault for being offended by his raging alcoholism. Jun 23 14 12:35 pm Link Ive never had someone who I could tell was drunk, but Ive worked with a couple who have a beer or two while shooting. Im pretty used to guys drinking beer like I drink soda, so that doesnt bother me so much. If they were throwing back shots or something, or they were super lightweights and were considerably intoxicated from a beer then Id have an issue with it. Ive never been unhappy with the results of a shoot where someone had a beer or two. Ive had plenty of people get high before or during shoots, and Im usually pretty unhappy with the results. I dont know what it is about me that says "sure, get fucking blazed and screw up my shoot, I won't care, I wasn't at all expecting this trade shoot to produce work on par with what I saw in your portfolio, no worries bro, we'll just fucking hang out instead and you'll stumble around like an idiot and offer me drugs 2398749827598275982475 times and then apologize for how fucked up you are and then laugh like its not a big deal"…maybe its written on the back of my head or something. Maybe he has the slit lamp out to examine??? What if she has retinopathy??? Now we are busting on diabetic models? Smh Jun 23 14 03:40 pm Link It seems to be a new trend for models to show up stoned or on pills. Over the past year 98% have been high and I have had a couple girls come to my studio so stoned on pills they couldn't keep their eyes open and were nodding. It's very frustrating to have booked the time and have spent money on props and clothing, just to be disappointed. I couldn't decide if I was offended or amused at someone's opinion regarding one's ability to model based upon their age. Forgive my misquote. I hope this clarifies. And by the way, I'm 45, and I do quite well. Jun 23 14 07:30 pm Link I could never show up to a shoot drunk. What would the models think? And I'm not sure I could take a good picture in that state either. I'd be afraid of losing my balance and breaking equipment. When I shot with a model I do tend to talk a lot. I sure do hope models don't think I'm on something because I'm not. I don't do any drugs. I guess I chat too much because most of the time I'm alone and don't speak with anyone. Or maybe I'm just excited about the shoot. Jun 23 14 08:19 pm Link Dobias Fine Art Photo wrote: +1. Neither of us should be showing up drunk or hungover. It's unprofessional and can make the shoot a waste of time. Jun 25 14 09:23 am Link Dobias Fine Art Photo wrote: Four days? Do you do urine tests too? Tethers with alcohol sensors? I don't think he was used to naked models. Jun 26 14 08:37 am Link I'll sometimes have a beer or glass of wine before the shoot, and a couple during. Actual drunk? No. That would be unprofessional and I need my wits about me to ensure the photos come out well. Jun 26 14 08:44 am Link Isis22 wrote: I'm told they have cooties...
