Facebook outrage at Triceratops "trophy kill"
Still chuckling at how outraged people are on Facebook over this trophy kill of an, oh so rare, Triceratops... Jul 11 14 03:47 pm Link That man looks familiar. Jul 11 14 03:53 pm Link I'm wondering...is anyone REALLY outraged? Or is the outrage staged as well? Jul 11 14 03:56 pm Link The Washington Post and other major papers are calling it a "social media storm". Seriously, believe it or not. That part is rather scary... Jul 11 14 03:58 pm Link The original post may have been a joke but those that followed were just showing how people often act emotionally without thinking. These are the same folks that signed petitions to ban water. Jul 11 14 04:03 pm Link Bob Helm Photography wrote: I missed that one. Do tell! Jul 11 14 04:13 pm Link Apparently there's also an older photo circulating of the same man on a very large dead shark. Of all the outraged comments, there are a few that point out the "obviously, the photos must have been photoshopped" (I kid you not). The suggestions about setting up an organization where people can "help save these magnificent animals" for "only $20 a month" caught my eye... [EDIT] Breaking news. There are reports that L'Oreal are cancelling their contracts with him...[/EDIT] Jul 11 14 04:30 pm Link Like the man said, "you can fool some of the people all the time ..." Jul 11 14 04:52 pm Link Triceratops are delicious. Kind of a cross between a Whooping Crane and a Giant Panda. Jul 11 14 05:05 pm Link I heard that he killed it with a walkie talkie. Jul 11 14 05:07 pm Link I haven't seen anyone who took it seriously. Jul 11 14 05:07 pm Link Way back in 1974 when Spielberg was filming Jaws...Steven befriended the Great White Shark. Calling him Bruce, after Spielberg's Attorney. You can see Spielberg riding on top of Bruce, and then the ultimate of bravery...Spielberg in the mouth of Bruce. Spielberg and Bruce were cool with one another. Peta, was outraged and tried to shut down the Production of Jaws and boycotted Universal Pictures. It says so in the Bible. Jul 11 14 11:15 pm Link I don't think anyone actually believed this. It was more likely 'outrage' to continue the joke, with perhaps people not recognizing that those expressing 'outrage' are also joking.
