This is my Profoto Pro Zoom Spot. It hasn't been manufactured in a long time. It is basically an ellipsoidal (also called a leko, Shakespeare or ERS). This version allows you to put a strobe head in the rear reflector assembly as you would a light bulb in a regular unit. The new version costs more than $10,000!

This is easily the single coolest modifier you will ever own. It is great for indoor fashion photos where you might want an ultra-hard and crisp shadow against the background. It's really the only way to get that look and is the primary reason I purchased it. This is actually the second one I've owned, it took me 5 years to find another one - they are quite rare now.

This unit has a lever to adjust from 15 to 35 degrees and a lever to adjust from hard to soft focus. It's a little counter intuitive, but depending on the distance from the subject, the soft and hard can be reversed. You'll get the hang of it the more you use it. The levers are a bit stubborn; I don't recommend pushing / pulling them while the unit is horizontal. I find it's best to tilt the unit up and down and let gravity help you move the levers. When using the modeling lamp, this unit tends to get quite hot. If you aren't used to using modifiers made of steel and glass, I suggest you buy a pair of leather work gloves.

The cutters work as they should and the iris opens and closes properly. I replaced the tilt knob with a newer one that I ordered from Profoto. Thankfully, all their units in the past 40 years use the same threading / pitch size. I am including a third party gobo holder and a used GAM "window" pattern to get you started.

I never used the pattern projection aspect of the unit in a shoot, but it's pretty cool. Remember to put the gobo pattern upside down. You might have to position the cutters to cover trimmed sections. You'll see what I mean when you use the unit - this is normal. I'm also including a third party black donut that slightly sharpens the cutter or gobo projection. I also have the original filter holder. Which reminds me, you might want to buy New Hampshire or New Hanover Frost diffusion gel to reduce blue fringing in your projections. This happens sometimes on all spot units.

I am asking $1000 flat. That includes shipping within the continental United States. I will accept Paypal (including e-check or credit card through Paypal).
