Hello talented MUAs in here  ! 

Ok I need your help with something hehe. I am a photographer and have little knowledge in regular makeup, let alone the special effect ones, so I am hoping someone in here can point me in the right direction... as my online research has been useless so far.

I would like to recreate the effect you see in sci-fi movies like Aliens etc, that slimy saliva or amniotic fluid effect that drips from the aliens or covers their bodies, or other similar characters in movies... Basically I want to cover my nude model with some sort of slimy mucus that emulates birth fluid Plz help!

I have glycerine, and thought of mixing it with some green jello lol..and maybe some coconut oil...I haven't tested anything yet, thought I would get advice here first before doing any tests.

I seem to recall hearing or reading that they used K-Y in the Alien films.

Amniotic fluid isn't slimy and definitely not thick.

There are a number of products that are slimy, mucoid in nature.  One of them used to be "Snot"

Look for them in SFx Products/Makeup

Here is an instructional video on how to make green slime.  I think you could just leave out the green color and it would be great clear mucous.   Also, methylcellulose can be used if you want something that is less thick and gel like.

I think I will try the easy stuff first like K-Y. Have a Durex Play bottle lying around somewhere I could also use haha. Didn't know that's what they used in Aliens lol! Cool to know.

I will put a few drops of green food coloring, as someone mentioned in here a while back regarding fitness shoots  that it supposedly makes water or oils catch more light or something ??
