I found a little (baby?) snake in the parking garage.
I picked it up with a stick and carried it outside and put it in some grass.
I'm a hero.

Niceee!

Last fall I walked into one of the delis up the block from me. There was a crowd of 6 or 7 people huddled around a guy with a broom trying to shoe a little snake into a cardboard box. It was a baby ball python so I just walked over to the little guy, checked his scales to see if he had any mites or anything else, checked his eyes and then placed him in the box for them. It's funny how scared these people were of this tiny snake...that was without a doubt even more afraid of the people.

I had snakes in the past but unfortunately I had no interest in keeping it, so one of the guys volunteered to bring it to a pet store. Hopefully the snake made it, but he was very cold to the touch when I picked him up and I have no clue how long he was out of his ideal temperature range. Although I'm not sure if he made it in the end, it did feel good taking the snake out of that stressful situation of getting pushed around with a broom....
