That's what I used to think.

It all started when I saw a Craigslist ad for tickets to next weeks eclipse. It was half off the
Stubhub.com price. (red flag #1) It would be a nice, romantic time with my girlfriend.
(you don't know her, she went to a different school) When I got the tickets, I noticed that the
date was for the last eclipse in 2012 (red flag #2) when I confronted the seller, he said the
tickets would be honored because the last one was rained out. (it wasn't, I checked)

so I came here for help for what to do. this has always been a safe, supportive place where I
know I wouldn't be mocked, with lots of friendly, sage like advice.  tongue

thanks in advance

The tickets are fine.

They are half off because you can only look at it through one eye.

I see you're from California. In Texas, they don't charge for the eclipse. Of course, we're only getting about 65% coverage, but it's not even pro-rated.

The eclipse is a scam.

You have 2 options.

1. Pound on logs and chant in a deep, eerie voice.

2. Writhe around on the ground wailing in fear whilst rending sackcloth and smearing your head with ashes.

If you decide to do both, start with 1 and work your way to 2.

its not your fault. No one is too smart to get scammed. Ironically because intelligent people tend to believe in more possibilities it is actually *easier* to scam us. Now after two painful incidents with some fun sociopathic hacker...I will say...I know I am not too smart. And I am more careful. However it could happen to me again. All we can do is the best we can. *hugs*
