Can't reproduce complicated gold look
I ran a photo through a complicated photoshop action. It has many options, including 4 color choices. I just started randomly toggling all the options (and sub-options) and came up with a really nice gold look. Unfortunately, I only saved it as a .jpg, now I decided I really like it and would like to clean it up, but I can't reproduce the strong gold look. I like this: http://ogdenfry.com/photos/IMG_0014%20-%20gold.jpg This is as close as I can get now: http://ogdenfry.com/photos/LB%20-%20lookingforgold.jpg Source file: http://ogdenfry.com/photos/LB%20-%20lookingforgold.psd (522MB) If anyone wanted to see if they can match my first photo, I would appreciate it. I think if anyone gets success, you could post a screenshot of the relevant toggle buttons, I should be able to replicate. I like how the eyes turned brown, the red, yellow, and orange colors (especially in the background). I can see the hair lost a significant amount of detail, so I think exposure is important. But the result may be a basic to remember something about your procedure. I hope you will be useful. Hello If you download until 18.30 pm (ITALY) is ok, otherwise i give another link on drop box. Oct 18 17 08:56 am Link Gold is one of the most difficult colors to display simply because of the viewers perception. Gold themes are often used in body paint, When I shoot a body painted 'gold' model where everything was balanced for the proper color, the gold usually looks brown and somewhat murky. When I add a tiny amount of another color (yellow, or red) the gold appears more like how the human brain perceives it's supposed to look. I notice that in your example the gold appears to be on the brown side, which is probably a very accurate representation of the true color. You probably have your white balance set accurately. Don't be afraid to throw the white balance off a bit to make the gold 'appear' to be more gold. Oct 19 17 11:41 am Link Not sure about this, so I did not see your psd. But I tried with your jpegs, seems not complicated, just boost contrast with curve(luminocity mode), then increase yellow saturation, then move yellow hue towards green a little bit, which is gold ! Your image is a little opposite - redish. Oct 20 17 03:44 pm Link |
