ACTING FOR THE CAMERA: A 6 WEEK MASTER CLASS
●    For anyone who has ever wanted to become an actor
●    For actors with little or no experience in front of the camera
●    For directors who want to gain experience working with actors

This course will place primary focus upon:
1)    how an actor prepares and executes their performance before the camera and
2)    how to work with the director and the camera.

The goal: To demystify the process and sharpen students' communication skills and give them the tools to design, assess, and shape their performance specifically for the camera.

Covers basic principles of acting, script analysis, techniques and strategies to put forth your best performance in a film.

Designed as both an actor’s and director's workshop laboratory where students are exposed to a variety of skills and approaches specific to working with the camera..

1st hour will focus on the art and technique of acting for the camera. 2nd hour will focus on working with the director and the camera.

Class is 2 hours long: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday evenings beginning September 10th and ending October 15th.
That's Sept. 10th, 17th and 24th and October 1st, 8th and 15th.

Your final performance will be taped and a digital copy provided to you.

Cost is $275

The Teachers:
GRANT STOKES
​Grant studied with Uta Hagen at a young age and holds an MFA and MA in acting and singing. Worked as a stage actor LA, Detroit, Chicago etc. AEA SAG AGMA member. He won Best lead actor in a feature film "Fall Away" GLBT from the New York City International Film Festival 2011 as well as 4 other awards for the film he wrote the original story for as well as the music. Recently seen in the TV show the Land of the Outlaws and several Indie Films including "The Road Home."

DEL HARVEY
​The founder of Rough Cut Films LLC, Del has written, directed, and edited feature films, shorts, music videos, and documentaries for over 30 years. He has worked on dozens of feature films including Critters 3, L.A. Heat and many more. He worked for Walt Disney Studios, The Director’s Guild and Lucasfilm/THX. He loves working with actors and is inspired by anyone who commits themselves to their craft.
