Model Survey
Here is the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TYG9RLJ I am looking for feedback on models who want to be published. Survey is open to all models. If you are not from Colorado, please answer anyways. I have promoted models in the past. Hooked them up with top agents in LA, helped models go to Milan, Tokyo Japan, etc. I am thinking of putting together a program to help models get started in Denver. Being in fashion magazines, getting together a real portfolio, sending photos to agencies, etc. There is very limited opportunity in Denver, Colorado. I have several approaches in mind and I am looking for guidance in what models want. Thanks Allan Sep 16 18 12:18 pm Link Good thing this is a survey and not an advertisement or casting call. Could you let us know how much various models opt to pay for your services? And any information about the problems they mention with other, less reputable photographers? This sounds promising. Its a dream of mine. Sep 20 18 08:48 pm Link ::the sound of crickets:: Sep 22 18 03:15 pm Link This survey has no options for actual professional models who are already published and have portfolios. The txt form at the end is way too short for an explanation. If you're posting to an international platform, why is your survey based out of Colorado? Several questions seem to imply your just trying to get dirt on other photographers. Also, your survey talks about fashion models, your bio talks about fashion, yet there are no fashion photos in your portfolio, you need to rework your portfolio & put your fashion work in it. Sep 22 18 05:17 pm Link From the survey: We could send your magazine photos to hundreds of other magazines and agents. If this service was included in your magazine photo session, what would you pay? So let me get this straight. You are exploring the idea of models paying you to submit to magazines? I also noticed this in your bio: "Several of my models have made over $100,000 per year and have appeared on magazine covers including Teen, BBW and more." Not only are you dangerously close to coming across as a sluggo, you are kind of weirding me out by referring to those models as "yours". Sep 22 18 07:02 pm Link Jason McKendricks wrote: (fixed it.) How important is it to you, to be a published model? 3. If a professional portfolio was included with being photographed for the magazine, what would you pay for the portfolio? Typically the publication pays the photographer for license to use the image. Why would a photographer 'double dip' and have a model pay, too? 4. We could send your magazine photos to hundreds of other magazines and agents. If this service was included in your magazine photo session, what would you pay? Once again, the publication usually pays the photographer for license to use the image. Unless it's a stock photo why would anyone send the image to hundreds of magazines and agents? 5. Would you pay a small, non-refundable deposit ($25) to book your time for a magazine photo session? It would be returned to you at your photo session. 6. Would you be willing to pay a commission (about 20 or 25%) on other work that the magazine photographer gets for you? It should be noted that this practice is ILLEGAL in several jurisdictions (it's a FELONY in Florida). The same practice in a similar field (charging actors a percentage to get them work) is also against SAG regulations. In the jurisdictions where it's not illegal, it's frowned upon (why do you think it's illegal in certain jurisdictions in the first place?) It's also against MM rules. 7. Have you had negative experiences with photographers in Colorado? I never woulda thought that photographers being professional would be classified as a negative experience. 8. Have you had negative experiences with model agents, modeling schools or managers in Colorado? 9. What has been the quality of modeling photos you have gotten here in Colorado? 10. How serious are you about being a professional model - making money, being published in magazines, etc. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sep 23 18 11:32 pm Link 7. Have you had negative experiences with photographers in Colorado? WTF does this have to do with asking models about interest in being published? Sep 24 18 08:22 am Link Comes across as if the creator of the survey is a sluggo, and/or scammer of the "portfolio mill" variety. Sep 24 18 09:20 am Link Well, I am guessing this isn't the way the OP thought this would go... Sep 24 18 12:04 pm Link |
