Looks like you promoted your Bentbox profile across the sub-forums. Nice job. smile

The marketing ploy of the OP not withstanding, for anyone interested in Bentbox I will say that I personally know one photographer who is very active there. But he spends a lot of time promoting his sets by posting sample images on Twitter, Instagram, etc. If anyone expects that simply by uploading sets that people will come running out of the woodwork to buy them they are mistaken. Getting the word out to potential buyers (which are not generally other photographers) is the name of the game.

Which user is that? I saw one guy called Andrewbullsgirls who looked like he was doing pretty well. He has something like 544 sets ("boxes") for sale. They are all $5 to $8. https://bentbox.co/search?andybullsgirls

He must be showing sales if he kept it up for 544 boxes, right? And I guarantee you, he is paying the models, so he must be making money, otherwise he'd have run out of money by now.

If your friend is doing it, why aren't you?

I will only say he is located near Portland, OR. And I am not doing it because frankly I don't want to spend that much time on it. Perhaps after I retire from my regular full-time job I will devote more time to selling.

I haven't been able to bring myself to use Bentbox yet due to the icky 'porn' feel of the site. Browsing the site feels like walking through the seediest parts of Las Vegas with people soliciting prostitution, etc.

If the site were a bit more like Patreon I wouldn't have as much of an issue with it.

Why wouldn't every photographer and model on Model Mayhem try it and put a few sets up for sale? We all have tons of pictures sitting on hard drives making nothing. What's there to lose. It's free. And it took me maybe half an hour to sign up and upload a couple of sets. If it doesn't work out, I'm out nothing.

Because the forums are not for selling to each other. Not sure why you want us fellow models and photographers to browse your 'package' sales pictures.

This isn't a shopping mall or flea market. At least, I didn't think it was.

Herbalife, Avon, Tupperware... why are you pushing so hard?

Help me out here.
I am finding models who want me to pay them say $100 hr. They want rights to use and sell the photos on BB or Patreon.
Is this the going deal? It seams it would be a trade. They make money and you make money.

say no to that
however.. I will pay for the stuff I want to get out of the shoot (mostly portrait kinda stuff) that isn't for patreon or bentbox..but as long as they are there.. I will shoot a set or two they can use exclusive for those sites on a TFP basis ( with the proviso I might want to use a couple images in my Portfolio or something)

so I might pay for an hour and shoot the second hour or two TFP

They want you to pay them $100 per hour and sell on BB for even more money? There is literally nothing in it for you.

Just following orders. The upload instructions say that after you upload to BentBox make sure you post on Model Mayhem and Deviant Art. And you have to check a box that show you did.  I follow instructions to the letter.

They specifically instruct users to post on Model Mayhem? That seems rather odd that they would mention this specific site. As Jen said, it seems like a market more directed at consumers than other photographers and models. Are you generating a lot of income from Model Mayhem members using your referral link that you posted earlier?

I feel that you should have disclosed that you would be receiving 5% of any sales a Model Mayhem member makes when they use your referral link to create an account on that site. It just seems like these threads are an effort to build your own network downline rather than share a genuinely useful tool for photographers and models.

With that said, if the moderators of this forum don't mind that you posted these threads then it seems you are good to go.
