And why not...
My Sony 7rIII was made in China (great camera by the way)
My recent Epson scanner made in Indonesia
And a Canon Pixma Pro 100 printer made in Thailand.
Looks like Japan is following the US  in manufacturing off shores...

You mean like a Tesla ??

Tesla started making cars in China about a year ago making them a more critical part of Tesla' global strategy.

Tesla is shipping their Model 3 sedans from Shanghai to Germany, Italy and Switzerland, as well as other European destinations.

There are several other Chinese-made cars that are already selling in the U.S. The Buick Envision and Volvo S90 (Volvo Car Corp. is owned by China's Geely Holding).

So, I guess the answer is yes . . .

Hmmm.  It depends.  I bought a Tamron lens made in China. I didn't see any other options.

I saw photos from a friend of her riding a neat little scooter that is battery powered.  Would be cool for close to home stuff but it won't replace my car.  Considering how many American drivers are not bike friendly, at least in a scooter I can keep up with traffic.

Ultimately, it wouldn't be my first option, but I can't automatically exclude it.

{{{{{{{{ AM I having a stroke---- or is the MM forum software cross posting ??   I posted this in OFF TOPIC, and it shows up in General Industry as a duplicate thread????}}}}}}

dont we damn near already do that? I understand there HAS been a recent shift but soooo many of the "component" parts of manufactured goods "start" in China...

"Made in America" more generally means "assembled" in America at best.

or am I totally behind the reality of 2020?
