Jerry Springer
He was a talk show host that became the epitome of Trash TV.

(As bad and fake as his shows were, they're still more credible than anything Tucker Carlson hosts.)

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — The white woman who accused Black teenager Emmett Till of whistling at and accosting her in Mississippi in 1955 — causing his lynching, which galvanized a generation of activists to rise up in the Civil Rights Movement — has died at 88.

Carolyn Bryant Donham died in hospice care Tuesday night in Westlake, Louisiana, according to a death report filed Thursday in the Calcasieu Parish Coroner’s Office.

Her death marks the last chance for anyone to be held accountable for the kidnapping and murder that shocked the world.

“It has comforted America to see this as merely a story of monsters, her among them,” Tyson said. “What this narrative keeps us from seeing is the monstrous social order that cared nothing for the life of Emmett Till nor thousands more like him. Neither the federal government nor the government of Mississippi did anything to prevent or punish this murder. Condemning what Donham did is easier than confronting what America was — and is.”

“Carolyn Bryant’s legacy will be one of dishonesty and injustice,” Shabazz said. “A legacy that verifies that Mississippi coddles and protects white supremacy.”

I think most people know who Jerry Springer is.  I wonder how many know that he was once a mayor of Cincinnati?

He left us just in time to do a big reveal for where Carolyn Bryant is going ..

The iconic Tina Turner has passed away at 83 years of age.

I have fond memories backstage at the Commodore Ballroom, in the lead up to her big return / major star years, having no idea of who she really was.  But being absolutely blown away by the energy of her live performance.  And watching David Bowie and Bryan Adams following her around backstage like 2 little puppy dogs.  That was the kind of impact that she had.

Years later, David Bowie performed with her live and said “Standing up there next to her was the hottest place in the universe”.

Rest in Peace, Tina Turner.

Today your post is the first I heard about her passing.   Tina Turner!  Calling her an icon, a legend, a superstar .. just does not seem enough to describe her status in music history and life.

Yes,,, I can't count how many times they've shown reruns back in those days of his 'infamous' tomahawk throw at the target.  And Johnnie always had the perfect response or come back to make it funny, and take the pressure off of the guest.  A very fine pair of men, both gone sadly.

"Actor Mark Margolis, who indelibly played murderous former drug kingpin Hector Salamanca in “Breaking Bad” and its prequel “Better Call Saul,” has died at 83 following a short illness, his son announced.

Margolis also was known for many film roles, particularly in the films of Darren Aronofsky: “Requiem for a Dream,” The Fountain,” “Noah,” “Black Swan,” “The Wrestler” and “Pi.” But his breakout film role was mobster Alberto “The Shadow” in Brian de Palma’s 1983 “Scarface,” opposite Al Pacino’s Tony Montana, who famously shoots and kills Alberto before the latter can detonate a car bomb and kill an innocent woman and her kids."

I remember watching a Bears game where Butkus intercepted a pass.  In turning to run up field, he ran towards the approaching linemen versus trying to avoid them.   As a defensive player, attacking was how he played the game.

Legendary Photographer Richard Avery Passes Away at 53

(Los Angeles, CA / October 11, 2023) -- The adult entertainment industry is mourning the passing of iconic photographer and director Richard Avery at age 53.

The prolific lensman, who in 2005 launched the wildly popular Juliland Universe with adult film superstar Juli Ashton, shot more than 250,000 photos of 200+ models, directed over 1,000 web videos for Juliland.com, produced over 700+ episodes of podcasts for JulilandRadio.com and worked alongside some of the biggest names in the business, including Bobbi Starr, Jada Stevens, Samantha Bentley, Ash Hollywood, Aiden Ashley, Angela White, Phoenix Marie, Audrey Bitoni and many more.

Born in Santa Cruz, California on April 1, 1970, Avery, who first surfaced in New York in the mid ‘90s, was known for his unmistakable style - bold and brash! The exact same way he lived his life, while being known as an incorrigible thrill seeker who worked hard and played harder. Those who knew and loved him will always remember him as loyal, reliable and honorable.

Being published in more than 50 magazines and books, Avery’s high-profile work followed in the footsteps of the legendary erotic photographer Helmut Newton, as well as fashion photographers Richard Avedon, Irving Penn and Peter Lindberg. His unique vision was a bright, gifted talent in the erotic filmmaking scene, allowing him to utilize models, lighting, camera angles, wardrobe, makeup and advanced digital imaging technologies in an unparalleled way to effortlessly capture the beauty and seduction of the human form in the most artistic, erotic and unexpected ways..

Avery is survived by only his family, fans and friends, and will be long remembered for his unmatched creativity, his passion for women and art and his desire to experience unbridled joy and playfulness in any situation. He was known for saying, “If it’s not going to be fun, then I’m not showing up!”

Ashton eulogized her dear friend of 30 years, saying that his photography was described as “brilliant, innovative, imaginative, ageless and hip by both art and fashion critics the world over. While his photographs brought him instant commercial success as well as a growing reputation and legions of fans, Avery’s work also brought him an admirer that would change his world forever.”

I really enjoyed that show, "Three's Company!"  Suzanne fought for equal pay against the gender discrimination when learning John Ritter made much more than her and Joyce.   Women are getting better pay for same jobs, but in many cases it's still not quite equal to men. She was a trend setter!  May she RIP
