As far as I know I like can be given to an image which appears in Your newsfeed which is under 'my stuff'. 

(I'm using a web browser, not the MM app)

So you can only like something if it is in your feed?  I can't randomly browse profiles and like photos?

We're in the process of updating portfolios and then you will be able to like photos on the site. You can also like photos in the app.
