Greetings,

I have just started as a photographer in the Triangle area. When I was younger, I actually did the modeling side of this gig. But now that I have appreciated photography more in school. I have decided to test it out on the other side of the camera.

But I have no clue, if there is any kind of proper ettiquite as a photorapher when working with models.

Does anyone have any newbie suggestions or tips so that I can work the best that I can with others?

Thanks! smile

Always be patient,courteous,respectful,and honest.
But if you know about photography, you know that already,
so I'll just say always be as good as your word, and best of luck.

Tips:
*  Do not touch the model
*  Have and use a model release, and show the model release before the shoot (no surprises)
*  Tipping is ok
*  Decide whether to give some photos to the model.  Edit the photos before giving electronic copies to model.  Remind model you still own the photo, but its is licensed to model (include ownership in model release)
*  List how many outfit changes are expected, type of outfits and what type of poses.  Have samples of poses you want.
*  Obtain model cell number and email, and confirm day before the shoot
*  Confirm model age

You've been in front of the camera, how did you like being treated?  Years ago, I  had the same question. Being in front of the thing a few times answered it. :-)
