Evaluate the impact of Instagram on the profession of photographer

Instagram has had a significant impact on the profession of photography. On the one hand, it has provided a platform for photographers to share their work with a global audience, expand their reach, and connect with potential clients. Instagram has also made it easier for photographers to market themselves and their services.

On the other hand, the rise of Instagram and the abundance of easily accessible mobile photography equipment has led to an increase in the number of amateur and hobbyist photographers, creating more competition for professional photographers. Additionally, the ease of use and editing features on Instagram have led to an over saturation of similar looking images and filters, making it more difficult for professional photographers to stand out.

Instagram has also led to a shift in the way photography is consumed and valued. The instant gratification and constant flow of new content on the platform has led to a devaluation of the art of photography, with many users scrolling through their feeds without fully appreciating the images they see. This has made it more difficult for professional photographers to charge premium prices for their work.

Furthermore, Instagram's algorithms and its business model based on ads and sponsored posts, have led to a decrease in the visibility of photographers' work, especially for those who don't have a large following or don't use paid promotion.

Overall, Instagram has had both positive and negative effects on the profession of photography. While it has provided opportunities for photographers to share their work and connect with potential clients, it has also led to increased competition and a devaluation of the art of photography.

Explain the allure of tinted aviator's glasses, delusions of influence, people getting hit by selfie sticks in tourist traps.

For those that aren't familiar with this...

The big advance on OpenAI's chat is that its text output is able to sound (often fairly convincingly) like it was written by a human being.  And, in the case of these conversational type questions, it can synthesize a great deal of information (accurate or not) that it finds online.

So don't expect those chat questions (at least on OpenAI's chat) to reveal some deep new understandings that humans have missed.  Although there certainly are specialty AI's that are much more capable.

The Instagram question is a great example.  It's a summary of all sorts of information that is online and heavily discussed.  But it puts it together in a way that certainly sounds like a human being wrote this particular summary.

But this same system is quite capable of completely wrong "Garbage In, Garbage Out" answers, depending on how limited and accurate the sources of "information" are that it can find, and how well it understands the question.  But it can certainly report it in a way that can, quite often, sound fairly convincing.  Even if it's completely wrong(!).

As a side note, if you try it, keep in mind that it has real problems with recent events or information (in the last year or so), as it's training database is out of date...
