I am an avid amateur art photographer with a few lines on the CV involving professional product shoots, who is getting into and enjoying organised photo shoots and I am looking to pursue this with more conviction. The human form and how it carries a look is far more interesting than product shots of shiny accessories! I will further develop my portfolio and skills with the goal of one day creating beautiful, artistic shots with meaning. The camera always lies and I aim to tell some good ones.

My photosets are often pretty eclectic; but gradually I am refining a style of my own. In particular I enjoy capturing emotions and stories. My working/management style with my models is rather hands-off, I rarely deliberately pose a model in an exact manner unless they are lost or confused. Instead, I usually ask them to act out something, or to imagine they are doing something. It takes a few minutes but usually people with the creativity and confidence to be models are also pretty good at acting! Free of having to direct every little movement, I am then more easily focused on capturing the right moments and flashes of emotion and beauty.

I am Irish but have been until recently based in Bangkok, Thailand. After a quick visit home, we are now settling down in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for a few years. My beautiful but camera shy wife and I were both English teachers which gave me plenty of flexibility for timing and location. We enjoyed a break from work and travelling the world, Asia, Europe, Africa (and hopefully in the future South America).

I am open to working with anyone, and as a relative newcomer, I hope especially to be able to help others new in this business too towards both of us developing a portfolio and contacts.
