About Me

I am a self-taught artist who's love for capturing the sensuality of the female form has not faltered in over forty years.

Even as a boy I would copy the front covers of my mother's 'Woman's Own' magazines and add flowing tresses to many photos within the publications too. From that day to this my endeavour has been to portray female perfection, an unachievable goal that I recognise as both futile and irresistibly inspiring.

I look upon the female form as many others look upon the form of a landscape, seeing the curves and undulations and the magic of their potential perfection. It is this 'idealistic' almost 'ethereal' quality that I seek to capture, believing and even wanting the results to be as exaggerated and 'unrealistic' in their own way as those who portray female forms that are purposefully bulbous or elongated - such is the 'eye' of the artist and the purpose of expression. The difference being, with my art, you have to study the work to see the irony - the perfection of each line I seek to achieve being the imperfection of reality itself. Is there then a greater 'art' to capturing perfect beauty, or finding true beauty in the undeniably imperfect? Either way - it works.
