About Me

My work celebrates a minimalist aesthetic and documents fleeting ephemera: youth and innocence, beauty and strength, bloom and promise and at the same time mourns their inevitable passing.

The models repose in quiet isolation existing in a black or white void and untainted by dress or ornamentation are released from a time bound world in an attempt to investigate and reveal private moments and slight gestures and to record the ever changing lines of the body and the sensuality of flesh by seeing the models as they can never see themselves and by having knowledge of them that they can never have.

It is ultimately an unachievable attempt to possess, as any artist does, his muse, knowing all the while that possession will be eluded and that finally the search is all.

"What to say about Michal...he has an amazing eye, and a wonderful spirit! I had a blast shooting with him, from the wonderfully insightful (and thought-provoking) questionnaire he produced, to collaborating through different phases/ideas of poses and angles. He is more than willing to take ideas from the model, but he also knows what he wants; collaboration is the name of the game. I got playful and quirky on a few of the shots - on others I saw something particular I wanted to bring out; in all cases, Michal was accepting of my ideas, and ready to get as many variants of a shot as possible. He was also a pleasure to simply talk with, and I even stayed a short while after just to chat and play him a song. I would without a doubt work with Michal again, and I look forward to that possibility!" Read less
