So...I should've listened to what everyone said about hair shows. I wish I didn't even do the show, because my hair was absolutely butchered. My hair was just below shoulder length, and is now even shorter than chin length. It's an absolute nightmare. I want to get hair extensions to the same length my hair was previously, so I can stop sobbing about it. I tried to style it this morning myself, and it came out absolutely horrible, because I couldn't even do anything to it.

Even with another two inches of hair, I'd be more than satisfied. I just need some extensions until I do grow ANY length back onto my hair. I'm new to extensions, so I'm just wondering how much I most likely would be spending, and how I can go about looking for an extensionist. Any possibilities of finding someone on here to give me a hand?

I am so sorry you had a bad experience with this.

Try posting this in the stylist chat, or reach out to some of them individually.  Hopefully you'll find someone that can help that won't charge a lot and you can give them some great shots in exchange.  Maybe the before and afters?

Keep smiling - you're a beautiful girl, and I'm sure that hasn't changed with the hair length.

Do hair extentions really ruin your natural hair?
I heard of many procedures- which works to protect your natural hair?

it really depends on the condition of your hair before you pick your process. also, what comes into play is how versitile you want the style to be.

BONDING-basically this is glued in pieces and its temporary and if not removed properly it will damage your hair and you could possibly end up with bald spots.

SEWN/STITCH-last about 1-2 months depending on the rate of growth. its the least damaging because 8-95 percent of your natural hair is braided up and the extentions are sewn on top of the braids.

FUSION-last about 1-3 months depending on the rate of growth and type of products used in the hair. this the most versitile of all methods because of the strand by strand method. it can be damaging to your hair if not removed properly and it work best on naturally straight hair. ethnic women can get this method done but its recommended that they have a relaxer done prior to the service.

HOPE THIS ANSWERED YOUR QUESTION...THERE ARE A FEW OTHER METHODS BUT THESE ARE THE MOST COMMON.

also depends on how you maintain them. and how u take care of your hair naturally too. anyone can damage their hair with or without them if u dont take care of your hair properly

personally im a big fan of microlink extensions. theyre little metal rings that are clamped down to hold the extension hair in place. lasts about 1-4 months based on the people i've done this for and on myself. the only major drawback that i can think of is if you leave them in for too long it can cause damage to that area and breakage.

Get the Keratip (glue in) extensions... they are the BEST! I had mine for 3-4 months and they look so natural! It costs $$$ depending on where you get it done at though. Go to www.hairpiece.com and pick hair there, its really good.

(on the left hand of the page go to KeraTip Fusion)

You can buy a pound of hair, buy some clips and a little sewing kit and sew the clips onto the hair. It's what I did.
