I just recently redid my hair blonde. It was a pale blonde and I went for a light ash blonde and it turned it almost a grey blue?!?!?!? what happened and how can I fix it?

ash blonde is kinda grey.
you need to do shades like that at a good salon.

Shave your head! You'd look really hot with no hair! dying it so much fried it and it looks unhealthy. Sides long hair is out!

I'm not a stylist, and I've certainly never dyed my hair, but one thing I learned from my wife is that if you don't pick your shades right you'll end up with a result totally unexpected.

did you do it yourself or at a salon?

if you did it at a salon and you were going for a very pale almost platinum look thats normal. i got mine done back in february and for the first week it was white and grey/silver. as you wash it and the more you wash it you can tone down the color. use a purple shampoo (the purple makes the blonde color show better and not look brassy), like catwalk fashionista thats what i use. you will also want a good hydrating shampoo since that one is for protein, i use cashmere for that and i switch back and forth.  you can also go back to the salon if your not happy with it in a week or so and they can tone it and they Should do it for free. mine looks pretty good now, it wasj sut that first week that was Really shocking! but after a week or two it faded to a light blonde.

if you did it yourself...(shakes her head) excuse the language but your an idiot.  NEVER EVER use box dye on your hair, especially if you are going lighter. i cant stress enough, this is the worst thing you can do to your hair, minus using Pantene...if you did this however my lecture is too little too late...so you need to go to a salon.  they might be able to fix it but i can guarentee your going to be paying a pretty penny for it.  especially if your hair got really damaged in the process.  they will probably have to do a corrective color and it might take a few times at the salon to fix it, but if your lucky and your hair isnt too damaged it wont be that bad, BUT use that as a learning experiance and never do that to your hair again!  you always need to go to a salon when your doing something like that to your hair, or if your just doing color in general.  i could go on and on about why you shouldnt box dye etc but i wont. just know its bad and you should not do it to your hair.

good luck!

hmm, sounds like you did it yourself.... Sorry, I don't agree with PP. I dye mine all the time with the boxed stuff.... Although, I have been doing it for one to many years and I admit when I first started I had some serious mess ups. You just need to find the brand that works well for your hair depending on the color. Everyones hair is Dif.

As for a pro not frying your hair... They do sometimes. I have baby fine hair and I had it fried several times. Yes, she had been doing hair for almost 20 years and was good at it... Only I guess baby fine hair is not her thing. So I do it myself and have had better luck. Then again, in the last 5 years I have preferred darker colors.... Black, shades of red, browns, blue, pink, green....... I have to lighten it for the more exotic colors.

Although, if you are doing blond. lol Have a pro do it... Especially if you are a model.

I believe in hiring the professionals to color hair, seriously.  Now you might need one to COLOR CORRECT it, which is what you will need - color correction - not left to the weak hearted.

I have to agree that blonde maybe isn't your best look.  It takes away from your face and makes you look washed out.

As for fixing it, try getting a 'clarifying' shampoo, which should help to make the ashiness fade a little.
When dying light blonde hair you have to be really carefully, because all of the tones of the dye (be it ashy, golden, coppery, etc.) will be exaggerated.

Mostly, you'll need to wait it out.  If you try to counter-correct yourself, it will probably get worse.

What I'd like to know is why doesn't anybody ever wait for the photographer (or the MUA)? Why don't you just leave it alone now? You are interested in doing goth after all someone may like it that way. Just let it be known that are fexible about coloring or restyling it.

well I have been dying my own hair for years, and I only had two bad experiences, the first one I managed to fix myself by washing my hair wth a purple shampoo and then waiting a few days before adding a light golden blonde. I took away the grayness.
the second time I messed up was when I was trying to go blonde from red. I had to bleach it a few times to get rid of the red and then I over did it and it turned grey. when I tried to fix it it went more gray.

Not if you are using it to tone down yellowish colors (usually)
how else would you go platinum without using an ash shade?

you bump up the base...and you do NOT use platinum or ash.  you pay a professional that uses professional grade products, as well.

you cannot do a two process haircolor at home.
