I used this product (http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.j … oryId=5792) for one of the pics in my profile and its wonderful for women who are fair or olive.  But for women who are darker it looks ashy and gray.  Anything I can use that can maybe give a nice goldish or bronzy shimmery look for darker women?

I used it for this pic:

Edit: How about the NARS Body Glow?  Anyone try that before?  It's kinda pricey.

I use this for a goldish look. It's great because it's a dry oil...although you do have to use quite a bit if you want to cover the body...  and it's not inexpensive. http://beautyexclusive.com/nuhupror.html

Not quite what I'm looking for.  I need body shimmer to spray or apply on the body.

i mix this with some silicone thinner or 944 and shake it up in a small bottle for a fluid application if i need it all over.. or sometimes i just apply with a damp sponge.

I've used Nars body glow before and I love it. I don't have the pic to show though
:(my photoshop expired so I haven't been able to up date my MM is quite a while (sigh) anyhoo...it works great to give a really nice golden glow however it is very pricey and to get a really strong bronze look i layered it with a gold dust that urben decay makes. Plus it smells good wink

Well, I've just been using the bronze and gold creams from my Ben Nye fireworks wheel, along with the Quench lotion from Oil of Olay....I apply the lotion all over and then go in with the creams on the highpoints, like collar bone etc. I used the Ben Nye creams as the highlighters in my avatar.

But, I don't think that's what you're looking for....

I think I might've heard people say good things about some Scott Barnes product, and some Victoria Secret product....

I use any of the shimmer pigments in a bronze or brown shimmer..any color you like really...MAC, others...and mix it in a spray bottle of body oil or aloe vera gel ...you can also fiind body sprays with sheen in most drug stores.

That reminds me of this amazing concoction that Vik created. I got to see it up close and in action when I assisted her, but I think she's taking the recipe to her grave. Hehe. But it was definitely a mixture of oils, lotions, shimmers....

I've been meaning to experiment with some recipes of my own; if you were feeling crafty you could probably come up with something. big_smile

If your looking for something fab for the body and face (not eyes)   I love the Kryolan Interferenz Aquacolor or Mehron Metallic Gold Powder- both these products can be used 2 give a subtle goldy (yes that is a technical term haha) look or layered for a bolder effect.

I definetely love the Kryolan Mettalic Aquacolors.  They are simply gorgeous.  I've never tried them for body shimmer...mmmm....

Ok, off to schedule a shoot!! wink

Hey! smile Either Zhora or Replicant from my line would do that in water-based product, or Beach or Bronze in alcohol. Hope this helps!

If you airbrush, you can try temptu dura in Bronze or Copper. Both are really beautiful and last a long time.

On another note, Sally Hansen has an airbrush luminizer. I bought it for $12. Save your money- it's essential hairspray that barely leaves a glow on the skin.

I know exactly what you're talking about Sian...she's definitely taking that one to the grave! smile

I use Nivea Body shimmer lotion sometimes (Roshar suggested this to me a while back. Thanx Ro!). And I sometimes mix pigments or bronzing lotions or liquid shimmers with regular body lotion. Just play around.

Yes- I loove the Nivea Silky Shimmer lotion.
Its a sheen insted of a sparkle and has such a beautiful warm tone.
It dries too so it wont compromise clothing.

Ive been noticing its getting harder to find in stores here so Ive been ordering online .
Although Ive heard its in Target.

Everyone online (ive just noticed) is out.
I found some here.

oooh sorry, I was catching up with Meadowlands..lol (new tv show addiction!)

It's funny you ask about this because its exactly what I was trying to work out for myself recently and last night I became a mad scientist and started mixing loads of things together for the color I want. Of course I havent had a chance to test it out yet but I will on Sat.

I basically mixed loads of colored powders together with some of the OCC loose colours and some shimmery bronzer. It looks amazing so I hope it works..will let you know!

Yeah I pretty much bought some stuff at Sephora and started playing around with them.  I came up with a mix of lotion, eye shadow and bronzer.  Sounds funny but it really looks nice.  So I think I'll be ok.  I like playing scientist...its fun!

I guess you guys will see when the August issue of Papierdoll is out.

You can try SuperStars - Super Sheen Bronzing Mist by Sephora . Gives a nice golden shimmer on tanned and darker skin.
Not sure if this is what your looking for though, but its pretty affordable ($12) and it smells nice too. smile

I ordered the NARS Body Glow set for $98. Is one of those things that I saw it looked like something I could use a lot. I haven't received it yet but once I do and use it on my next shoot, will post here how I like it and maybe some images to show.

I went to Sephora and tried the Body Glow and I PERSONALLY didnt like it.  I felt it was greasy and it has no shimmer at all.  Smells pretty but it wasn't exactly what I thought it would be.  It might be different for you so, yes, please do keep me updated on how that works out for you and if you use it on a shoot, would love to see the pic smile

Yes the NARS one is actually just a body oil with a nice scent. There is no shimmer, and if you use it with a white or light colored shirt, you will stain it (when I used to work at Sephora years ago a client returned it for that reason).

I actually really liked the Nars Body Oil thing (the original one). It's subtle, pretty, and goes through a wider-sized airbrush pretty well (Revolution CR - .5mm nozzle). It does rub off pretty easily, but I mean it is an oil, I expected that, so I wasn't let down. It is pricey, but Nars does offer a professional discount when you buy direct, so if you're going to get it don't get it at Sephora. It is extremely fragrant - I love the smell, but if you are airbrushing it, it is a consideration.

I really like the After sun body oil from Napoleon Perdis. Its a great deep bronze shimmer. The only thing is that is is super pigmented so I would dilute it with another oil of your choice!
