Temptu sells two kinds of airbrushes. One kind is the Iwata...excellent airbrushes but Temptu adds considerable markup over other places you can buy them. The other airbrushes they sell are called "Temptu" airbrushes...these are most likely Chinese knockoffs of the Iwata. I've had them offer me to do "People Painters" airbrushes and I've seen other names as well. I don't have much experience with the knockoffs, but my limited experience and common sense says that they will likely be far inferior to the Iwata brand.

i dont use an airbrush for makeup, but i do own one.  i use Iwata [hp-sbs] and it is an amazing piece of equipment.  their products are very well built and easy to use.

i HIGHLY recommend ALL of their products (i have owned several of them over the past few years)

A point 0.35 tip at minimum is best. 0.5 even better. Too small a tip and you'll not have as easy a time spraying.

Gravity feed is best for foundations and details.

Siphon feed requires a higher psi and is good to have for larger body applications such as bonzing or muscle countouring or medium coverage body painting.

Hell I just do what the commercial says:

"Ask Sherwin-Williams".

This concludes my one smart-aleck comment for the Season ;-)

Iwata HP-BCS is an excellent brush. Smooth work and it feels great in the hand.

Whatever you decide is right for you, get an extra needle or 2 when you place that order.

It is something you always want to have at the ready.

What is your focus - beauty or bodypainting? For bodypainting, Battledress is correct - .35mm minimum - .5mm is ideal. For beauty makeup, the more refined .3mm tip offers you slightly more control, which does make a difference. We sell Iwata products as well, but Rich is correct - if you look around, you can find merchants (art supply stores usually) that sell them for less. Coast Airbrush is also a great resource.

Your best bet however, if you're looking for a complete startup set, is to go for a package deal (airbrush equipment + makeup products). Even bought individually, you won't find a better deal than that. Almost all the brands out there offer one.
