I've always used the eyelash glue and i really like it, but saw the surgical adhesive online somewhere that said it was better because it was more flexible but still strong.

If you have used both, what do you prefer? Or do you prefer a different eyelash glue altogether?

Are you talking about the clear glue with the strong smell?
If so it works well but you wont be able to take the lashes off for a couple of days!

Duo surgical adhesive is the best.  It holds very well but it's still easy to take them off if you want to.

It's the only thing I use.

It kind of reminds me of the sticky tacky that teachers use to hold posters on the wall.

I dont know, i haven't smelled it. I just read about it online somewhere and I lost my duo at my last shoot so i wanted to ask before i just went about bought the eyelash adhesive again. Maybe I'll just buy both and try them out.

Wait, are these really two different things? When did this start? How did I not know this?

OTish, but I like the black Duo myself, unless I'm doing individuals that are meant to look real.

Duo lash glue is definately the best glue I've ever used. It's a surgical adhesive that just peels off when you're ready to take them off. It doesn't pull out any lashes and it always stays put.

As far as  I can tell yes... there is the eyelash adhesive that comes in clear and dark and a separate surgical adhesive.

As I'm looking around online, here's what I'm thinking: They are the same thing, but depending on where it's being sold, it's marked as "Eyelash Adhesive":

"Eyelash": http://www.walgreens.com/store/product. … prod13124#

"Surgical": http://www.madamemadeline.com/online_sh … od=adh_duo

If someone has the ingredients on both, we can compare them, but my money says they're the same thing. I'm thinking that in venues where they're typically sold as eyelash adhesive (like drugstore cosmetic isles), they're marked as such and in ones where they're sold for multiple purposes (like FX Supplies, or actual medical supplies) they get the "Surgical" marking. It would stand to reason as I think the average consumer would be intimidated by the idea of putting "surgical adhesive" on their eye.

Google let me down, I could only find ingredient listings for the eyelash adhesive.

"Water, Cellulose Gum, Sodium Dodecylbenzenesulfonate, Rubber Latex, Fragrance (Parfum), Formalin Solution, Ammonium Hydroxide."

What you are saying sounds right though David. The eyelash adhesive is at tons of stores anyways, thats easy, i think i'll stick with it!

Don't you hate when that happens? big_smile Someone else reading this must have it - help!

But you know what's also great, speaking of drugstores, is good old Ardell. The clear liquid in the little glass vial. Doesn't budge at all.

David, what do you suggest as an alternative for Duo for individuals sensitive to latex?

I have both the one that says "surgical adhesive" and the one that says "eye lash glue".

I never realized there was a difference.  They look and smell the same to me.  But I only use the clear.

I've never tried the black.  Does that work well for natural looks?

I've done both. The regular glue is good for a temporary thing. The surgical adhesive is much more longlasting. I've had eyelash extension done at my esthetician and they were amazing. The only thing is that you shouldnt curl them. Otherwise they crimp in wierd ways. I say if you use surgical adhesive, be sure to go to a professional unless you really know what you're doing. The results are great!

For me the surgical one doesn't seem to last as long.

I'll never use anyting but dark Duo Eyelash glue ever again.

the clear smelly glue is a whole other animal.. but is good for people who are.. or claim.. and allergy to latex.. just remember that they make a remover for it... and don't forget to buy some!

After falling in love with the dark eyelash Duo.. I wonder... why would anyone ever use the "clear" duo adhesive.

As for long lasting surgical VS. eyelash adhesive..  I much prefer the eyelash adhesive over the surgical adhesive.

I've used surgical adhesive. It worked well for me. Clear, stayed put, came off easily, &c; I haven't ever used anything else, though, so I can't compare.

Any shot that has false eyelashes in my port was done with the black, and I think it looks pretty natural. Since it's dries black, it blends with the lashline so that's why I like it smile Nothing against the clear one though!
