So there have been times where I've wanted to shoot with my husband without his shirt on, but he works outdoors and is workin' that farmer's tan for real.  I think that a tan somewhere between the color of his chest and the color of his arms would be nice, but they are extremely different from one another.  Could hiring an mua that has an airbrush machine be in our best interest?

thanks,
t.

Though it can be achieved manually as well, it will be faster and easier with an airbrush, and it will also be lot more easy to get it even. You basically pick the shade closer to the darker skintone and spray - that's it. You want something with high opacity though, nothing on the sheer side. Alcohol-based products would be the way to go, if longevity is concerned. If you want something he can just jump in the shower and wash off, then go with a water-based makeup.

Thanks Dave.  I don't think he would care about making it last, however, we would want for him to be touchable without him smudging and ruining backdrops and such.

Honey, you are sooo right.  He tans more red than bronze and when he's burned, he almost looks purple!  Poor guy works so hard!

This is him at the beginning of spring before the burning begins, just now-a-days the tan never really goes away, evening during the winter.
