Air brush question(KETT foundation)
So I searched the forums and couldn't find an answer. Recently I have been using the water based Kett air brush makeup. These are the problems I am finding. 1. It rubs off really easy even if I set it with powder. 2. If I put it on too thick it starts flaking off. Maybe its the moisturizer I am using? I don't want to use the Hydro proof on everybody, especially if they have dry or sensitive skin. Do I need to prep more? Not prep? Powder more? Thanks in advance Jan 18 08 01:43 pm Link I know nothing about Kett, but you should always start with clean skin. Trying to airbrush waterbased makeup over an oily lotion will get you nowhere. Lighter shades will also have more problems with even coverage which transfers to putting it on too thick which becomes flaking and etc. Hope this helps. ~Rich Jan 18 08 02:00 pm Link Are you using anything under it, like base, concealer, or primer? Kett Hydro is water-based so if you're using anything with say, alcohol or glycerin in it, that may cause the foundation to separate. I should probably stay away from the smashbox primer too, because it has silicon? Jan 18 08 03:08 pm Link Anytime you apply airbrush make-up too heavy or in too many layers you will almost always get the cracking problem. Applying color over lotion is also a problem. You don't want the skin too slick with skin lotions or too dry.... I tend to ask my models to ex-foliate and lotion skin for a few days before a set but not on the paint n' shoot day. hope this helps a bit. With Kett, I dont use a primer, I think they makeup looks good on its own. Try it without anything underneath, and see how it holds. And yeah, use a light touch. With airbrush makeup less is more. If you're not sure if you've sprayed enough, always err on spraying less, wait a minute for it to settle, and see if you need more. I think thin layers is better than 1 thick layer. My hydro looks great through the airbrush but I noticed it moves at the slightest bit of liquid, I set it with muf high def powder, it gets streaky. I ordered hydro proof and going to use that for my brides in case of crying. May 01 12 07:49 am Link Yes I gave up on kett! I've tested it out numerous times and set it even with their powder and I'll rub my finger through my face & that part of the makeup is just gone!! Idk why it does that. I've moved o to temptu and OCC for airbrush. My friend had the same issue too her airbrush makeup just came off as well! I love it except for hat fact that it comes right off. Im referring to the hydro kett if I remember correctly. May 04 12 09:34 pm Link |
