Hi everyone!

I'm about to start a MUA training. I recently purchased RCMA palettes and I blend them with moisturizing cream or use them unblended. But I'm looking right now for a lightly shimmery skin effect.

Would you have a shimmer lotion to recommend me that I could mix with foundation? I was about to buy a Smashbox Artificial light shimmer lotion when I saw there was titanium dioxyde in it. I dont know if the quantity is enough to spoil a make up on a photoshoot, have someone tried it?

Thanks!

I have three products I use if I want a shimmer effect: Nars The Multiple (in various shades depending on what look I'm going for; Copacabana is my fave), Benefit MoonGlow and Benefit HighBeam.

I like the Nars the best. I sometimes mix the Benefit ones in with the foundation, because they're liquidy, but the Nars comes in a stick form, so I apply it on top of the foundation with a brush.

I have no idea if they have titanium dioxide in them, though. I always forget to look. :S Otherwise, they're great products; I love 'em.

Chanel makes an overall face/body shimmer in a single, beautiful peachy/flesh tone that I love. It's subtle enough to use even for a light, natural look. I love it w/ any blush or foundation color @ the highest point of the cheekbone.

MAC has some products that can work for you (pearl, for example)... although I've never tried to mix it with foundation

I bought a Tigi shake-it powder.  It has holes on top like a salt shaker.  I put some of that in my tinted moisturizers for a shimmer effect.

Here are some products I use when I want shimmer/dewy/glowy:

MAC Strobe Cream
Benefit Hollywood Glo
Naimie's Luminizer stick (a cheaper version of Copacabana, Nars has a better slip though)
Yves St Laurent Touche Necre

I like the smashbox powder shimmers, not sure exactly the names, got them during fashion week.

If there is SOME Titanium Dioxide, it's not going to hurt your pictures. I use products with it (a low percentage mind you) and my images turn out fine. TD is not poison, its not like if you use something with the smallest inkling of TD that your model will have a clown white complexion. You just have to know how to work around it.

Thanks a lot everyone.
I'll have a look at Nars' Copacabana and Benefit's stuff, as they are easy for me to find here in France.
Cheers!
