What does your Business Card look like?

Please, stop talking about where to get cards printed.  Stop talking about what your card looks like.  I want to SEE what your card looks like.  For some reason, this link has taken off down a road in a direction all it's own.  I'm asking that you post a photo of your Card.  If nothing else, take a photo of your card and post it.  I'm going to guess that you have a Camera laying around the house someplace and if not, perhpas your Cell Phone has a Camera on it.  (Yea, I'm being sarcastic.)

I know this topic was covered at least once before but I can't for the life of me find the topic.  I'm currently getting ready to order some business cards.  I'm interested in what others have come up with.  Not only the layout but the font and size.  What they have found that work as well as what doesn't.

Look forward to seeing what your card looks like.

Please, not looking for info on WHERE to get cards printed but rather like to see your own card.

Stick to fairly simple fonts, and usually no smaller than 8pt.

I use the mini ones and great a great reaction.  Spend the time to get 100 images and make them unique.

Thanks Jay,

Actually, even though I failed to state so in my message, (I'll go back and edit it), that is actually what I had in mind was to see what others business cards looked like and had to say.  I've picked an image, but can't make up my mind as to what to have the card say.

Thank you for showing me yours.  Certainly do look forward to seeing what other people's card look like.

20 bucks for 100 cards... lot of money for mini cards, think they would cost less being half the size lol big_smile

Nice image .... looked at your Profile and shame we don't live in the same City.  Do, however, have a question for you ... actually, more like asking your opinion .... First thoughts of a stranger handing you a business card with nothing more than their email address on it or their card being printed out from a home computer?

Oh that's an interesting question, wow, never happened to me but in terms of a business card with nothing but an email address, that sounds like it's a bit mental but it depends if you put it into context - for example, if I'm talking to someone who I need to 'keep' in touch with for whatever reason, sometimes you might say 'ah do you have a pen, I'll jot my email for you etc..' ... so that's when it could come in handy BUT I guess not for keeping in your business-card file for future reference, as it's not detailed enough to reference back to.. so that kind of makes it redundant.

With regards to home-printing.. well, that depends on the quality, sometimes home-printed isn't different to professionally printed! If it's a crappy, shoddy attempt, then I would definitely have wondering thoughts about the professionalism or ...status(?!) of person in question.

? I guess that as you use a 100 of your own images for Moo cards then that is what makes them unique? Or was it a little dig?

I use the said Moo cards. Be carefull if your uploading a logo with a black backgournd as they dont colour match to Photoshops black. But apart from that I really like them.

I don't understand why you would post your MM profile on your business card.  You are essentially sending potential clients to a directory of other photographers.

Yeah, $20 for 100 is up there but I love them.  I think you pay extra just for the cool box.  I think the small size helps set you apart.

I'm using Moo, as soon as I can get the front to look less fuzzy (i think maybe uploading at too high a res caused problems on the downsample. will know in a week when a new sample pack arrives)

The full-size cards are even more expensive; $25 for 50 cards. ;o
but the ability to have 50 separate images on the back is huge, and i like the stock of the recycled paper.

Here's the design. went through 19 drafts with a designer buddy of mine before we landed on this.

I just placed an order with moo.com

I like the idea of such a limited run w/out having to PAY out the nose for it. A bro of mine in the UK echoed their quality/ service and told me to use them, since they are now in the US.

I also keep an updated file of photos on my iTouch as well. Just about the only thing I've really found it useful for. Easy to carry a "mini" portfolio presentation if you are doing a cold approach on the street.

I think the moo.com cards will for sure help to reinforce one's services, especially since I can place a STRONG photo onto it.

$27 for 50, including shipping... isn't inexpensive, but if I really like it, I can up the order and not be unnecessarily stuck for 500 cards that I HATE and paid $200 for.

Does anyone know of a printer who's comparable to moo on quality, but will do all the cards the same for a lot less money?

I ordered their sample pack, and the quality is very good, but at 55 cents/card, that adds up to be a lot just hand out to people who express an interest.  For me, I don't see the advantage to different backs beyond maybe a sample portrait, a sample product shot, etc.

There's places that are much cheaper than moo but the print quality and card stock don't compare.  Isn't there a happy medium with the quality but not the customization?
