Zeus 1250ws pack and a Zeus studio head with a 47" folding octabox attached.

I love 'um! I have both the 1250ws pack and the 2500ws pack and am looking to pick up a couple more 1250ws packs for my studio work. Very light, very compact, and the strobe heads are sturdy (all metal) and light. I have an older (okay, verrrry old, as I recall I bought it before Franklin discovered electricity) Speedotron 2401 which I love and has served me for over twenty years, but it is BIG! I won't miss having to lug that brut around any more! (I think each of my Speedo 102 heads weigh more than the Zeus 1250ws pack, I'll have to check!)

These new Zeus packs are worth a look. I use them, I like them, a lot.

I'm thinking of picking up the Zeus 1250.........Is the image retouched or straight from the
camera? Also what power setting did you use on the pack?

Thanks
Bernard

I have many thoughts on AB's that point out things of a negative nature, HOWEVER.  I have always seen them as a great product considering the price tag.  Zeuss does take some components and compatibility I believe to Dyna-Lite strobe units.

All in all, good deal for the dinero.

Image of Tiffany Sasha shot with the Alien Bees ABR800 ring light with the 30" Moon Unit at approximately 200ws. (Also retouched, surprise, surprise!)

Hi Bernard, I think you are asking me about the picture of Carleigh in the post above yours. If so, the picture is retouched (I have problems imagining I might ever display an unretouched image, to me it's like sending out a letter without using spell check). However, Carleigh is a beautiful model with wonderful skin, the retouching was not a big deal.

Anyway, I typically use about 400 to 600 watt seconds when shooting beauty. I shot the image using the Zeus RingMaster ring light with the 56" Moon Unit attached. The model was positioned far enough away from a white cyc that the fall off gave me a dark grey background. As I recall, I did the shot as part of a demonstration of the Zeus RingMaster for a group of photographers in Fort Lauderdale.

I have both the 1250ws and the 2500ws Zeus pack, and have only rarely found a situation where the 1250ws pack did not provide enough power.

I hope this is of help, if you have any other questions you can contact me by email at [email protected].
