Is the gas mask the new caution tape?
I missed out on the caution tape but I did get the girl with the gun. Should one find a gas mask ? May 02 08 05:24 pm Link Yes, they've been annoyingly common for about three years now. Uggh. I've seen three or four that are excellent, around a hundred that are decent and about two or three hundred that just suck. May 02 08 05:33 pm Link I'd love to talk about gas masks, but then I'd get into talking about not so legal things here on mm. just that it was tobacco in the pipe! May 02 08 05:34 pm Link Gas Masks were the new caution tape a couple of years ago. The question is what's the new Gas Mask? May 02 08 05:34 pm Link -- maybe a sexy shower scene? May 02 08 05:36 pm Link They work real good for the neck down model! You know! The Betty Boops. LOL!! I'm just playing!! May 02 08 05:38 pm Link I modeled for The Clown God about a year or 2 ago and this was our gas mask shot!!! I hate gas masks in pics, they are not original or interesting and take a pic of a naked chick with a gas mask on is not artsy. That would be awesome . May 02 08 05:57 pm Link Gas masks are a fetish apparently, so theres a market for it. May 02 08 05:58 pm Link Edward Weston did the gas mask in 1942 http://www.kimweston.com/edward_weston/ … efense.jpg May 02 08 06:07 pm Link biwa wrote: Perhaps if one lives in Mansfield, Ohio. Unknown Sage wrote: May 02 08 07:05 pm Link Gas masks were played out a long time ago. I'm guilty of shooting a model in one last year. But I swear it was her idea and I was so distracted by um... my cameras that I didn't even notice she was wearing it until I started to edit the photos http://www.myluckylife.com/mllblog/imag … 12-07a.jpg May 02 08 10:08 pm Link Uhhm... Hmmm... I'm so cliche now. May 02 08 10:10 pm Link As far as I am aware of, The gas mask has many meaning and connections. The caution tape really does not. May 02 08 11:39 pm Link biwa wrote: As long as you shoot her on some railroad tracks..... May 02 08 11:42 pm Link Gasmasks are timeless. There was a market for gasmask fetish photos before the trend arose, and there always will be. Know why? They're sexy. Caution tape is just cheap. May 02 08 11:44 pm Link digital Artform wrote: These go nicely with the designer gas masks May 03 08 04:35 am Link I dunno , I bought my first gasmask about 18 years ago. Being part of fetish performance art and the popularity of industrial and electronic music in nightclubs... it was a fetish, and a political statement. Not unlike an cross or pentagram might be seen in a "metal" video. If it is a photo trend now, well that is interesting. Several fetish photos from quite some time ago included gas masks, or funnel hoods that looked not unlike gas masks. or just plain interesting stuff that hid the face... there is a fetish in that and I have used them for years in fetish oriented "things" including photos. So maybe they have gone the way of the tattoo and peircing.... what was once significant of the underground/ outsider and risque... ahhh , not so much these days. They were also not as easy to get me thinks. You had to know which army surplus would sell you one cheap , they often wouldn't move, so they were not often stocked. Now you can find them all day on e-bay.... May 03 08 04:52 am Link My thought is, no item is ever cliche'. For me, how they are used dictates that. For instance, there was a time when everywhere I looked someone was a "sexy" pixie or elf. Dozens of little pointy ears and cute little outfits. Easy to go how cliche', but then someone comes along and does something like this and it moves it to a whole new level: -=>D May 03 08 05:08 am Link NOPE!! the new caution tape is becoming this ridiculous "thick glasses" take a look around MM and you'll see! UGH!! May 03 08 05:15 am Link biwa wrote: I just worked on something similar. I'm worried they're not cliche enough and might actually turn out as good pics with caution tape. lol May 03 08 05:20 am Link biwa wrote: Only if your inspiration is pure and has intent... if not .. then it looks " cliche' ".
