...nude images acceptable? There is a model who is under 18 and has a topless image of herself and I asked her about it and she said... "I actually turn 18 in 2 weeks and I planned to jump right into magazines as soon as I could. I couldn't bother with the months of faffing about AFTER my birthday, so I have everything I need to succeed already. I have already had some offers from some top magazines". 21gmt

Just curious but.....what does "faffing" mean in American?

Minors do not have the legal right to give their permission or sign a release

So taking a topless image of an under 18 female with her bare breasts clearly showing is legal? PlasticPuppet wrote:

urbanglamouruk wrote: what does topless mean to you then? No top? Most likely breasts visible . . To the best of my knowledge, the comment is correct. Nudity, under the right conditions, is not illegal for under 18 year olds. It does open you up to all sorts of headaches, but it's not illegal in and of itself. Ever seen this before? Yes, provided that the pictures aren't sexualized in way, or made provocative, or zoomed in just on her breasts or nipples.

I wouldn't shoot her anywhere in the States for any amount. If you are so hell bent on shooting kids..... ask her parent to fly to Germany and meet her there. The age of consent is 16, and full age consent is 18.

ok i am not going to present the image of what I am talking about so i will use the one you posted. The one your posted is 99% the same as the one I am talking about. That is legal!!?? MikeRobisonPhotos wrote:

Whether legal or not, who wants to look at or take photos of an underage girls body or defend the photographers who do it? edit - I just remembered there is a famous female photographer who has drawn a lot of fire for publishing a book of her kids, two girls and one boy I think, when they were really young. They are sometimes nude. The book is I think at least 10 years old. She has recently been on Charlie rose talking about a follow up book.

having looked at the togs folio and the models work, It would be narrow minded of me to assume the tog investigated either if she was 18 and or if the shots he took of her fall into what is deemed acceptable underage photography. Having read and re-read her response to me, i am going to assume that she did not tell the tog she was under 18. Damn fucking shame, what a bitch of a way to take a fall.

I've gotten drivers license (or the equivalent) from every model who posed nude except one who's 38. If there's any doubt, why would he take her word for it.?

Naturalist who live in nude comunuties and go on nude camping vacation that are legal in the US ... they take pictures of their kids playing naked and having fun as we do with our kids when they are clothed ... Nude is not SEX!

In the 1999 American movie "American Beauty", (Oscar winning as best picture !), 17 year old (or still 16 when filming?) Thora Birch appeared topless. There was no scandal. It's all a gray area, what you can be prosecuted for. I would absolutely not show under 18 nude photos either as a model or photographer if it was me. Model Mayhem themselves could actually be prosecuted for child pornography over this. Why MM allows nudes without 2257 records, I don't know. I think in the future, MM will have to not allow nudes to protect their asses. Speaking of asses, look at the photos in my port.
