What, When, and Where?
This End-of-year Party is a social networking event for photographers, models, makeup artists, stylist and designers. People of all ages and experience levels are welcome. Food and studio setups will be provided.

The event will be on Saturday, December 13th, 2008.
It will start around 10am and you can stay as long as you like until the next morning.
The event will be held at my private residence in Winchester, Virginia (22602). The address and direction will be given to those who registered. See below for details.

Er, where exactly is Winchester?
Driving distance from select cities:
Fairfax, VA - 62 miles
Rockville, MD - 75 miles
Richmond, VA - 150 miles
Morgantown, WV - 152 miles
New York City, NY - 285 miles
Llano Quemado, NM - 1854 miles

What's Provided?
Two main course will be provided at lunch time and dinner time. Snack and drinks will be available at all time.

Three shooting stations will be available, including a dedicated 18+ shooting area, as well as some outdoor locations on property. Details of the complete setup will be provided to registered guests.

We will have live music. See post below for the list of musicians.

Child room. The upstairs entertainment room will be available for young kids to watch TV and be out of the way from the rest of crazy people.

A showcase table with 5100k full spectrum lighting will be provided. You may display your works or ask for critiques. You may also leave your comp cards or business cards there.

A tip: When you bring your portfolio, it is best if you can clearly mark your name and contact on the portfolio, and whether you are the model, the photographer, or the stylist. Stuff a few extra business cards in the first page of your portfolio.

How to register?
To ensure that there will be enough food for everyone, please register if you would like to attend. You can register even if you're not 100% certain that you can make it. Address to the location will be e-mailed to you at least 2 weeks prior to the event date. To register, send an e-mail to the following address:

Alcoholic Beverage Policy
Alcoholic beverage will be available for consumption inside the house and on the patio only. You must be of legal age to consume alcohol. The host reserves the right to ask for proof of age. You will be retained, by force if necessary, if you are deemed to be unsuitable to operate a motor vehicle.

Equipment and Wardrobe Policy
Photographers are encouraged to bring and share photographic equipments such as lenses and other attachments. The host will not be responsible for missing or damaged equipments at the event. You should write down the serial numbers of your lenses and equipments prior to the event. You may e-mail the host a lists of serials in case of misplaced equipments of ownership disputes.

Everyone is encouraged to bring multiple outfits/wardrobes. You may place your wardrobe in the change room if you intent to share with others. If you choose to do so, please mark your items. The host will not be responsible for missing or damaged wardrobe.

Other Common Concerns

Parking - Parking is easy. The location is in a very safe neighborhood. Park on the side of the road and "hike" up the drive way. People who attended last year would know what I'm talking about.

Internet - There will not be any internet provided via 802.11 wi-fi. However, at least 2 laptops will be set up with Spring Mobile Broadband for people who need to get online.

Overnight stay - For people who traveled a long way, or for those who plan on becoming intoxicated; I can shelter up to a dozen people overnight. Please let me know when you e-mail me that you intent to spend the night.

Im going to try and make it. I cant promise anything right now, its a ways away  but it would be nice to see you again and meet some people face to face.

I'll try to make it as a birthday gift for myself, as my b-day is the day after.

I'm looking to carpool as well, and possibly stay the night. I can drive, but I'm not sure how late I'll stay. I'm not sure if my Virginia visa let's me stay there after dark. I'm also concerned at what might happen to non-canon photographers. So, if you want to go from central MD and you're flexible, drop me a line.

I may be able to come, I have to check my exam schedule.

My new years resolution is to go to fewer meet and greets, so this could be my last one until Fells Point in the spring. I want to make it a good one.

So I recruited an awesome guitar player today, and he'll assemble a live band for the event. All the members of the band will be talented young men who can double as male models. They will set up at the main shooting station between 5pm and 6pm and will be available as photo subjects during that time.
