WE will be on the NORTH end of the beach which is the end where the boats DO NOT come in..  the RIGHT SIDE of the beach as you walk to the beach..

Bring LAWN CHAIRS to sit in unless you want sand in all your crevices..

We WILL be Grilling out So plan accordingly..

Buck Creek is about 40 minutes from both Columbus and Dayton and an Hour from Cinci, depending on who is driving..

I'm still coming but I'm not gonna start scheduling until at least May or June.

I've already started contacting people for te March group shoot.  Some of them have nearly full schedules already and others think I'm nuts for contacting them so far in advance.

I'm sorta here in the middle.

BE PROACTIVE.. dont wait for someone to find you or post shoot requests on the thread.. Check the links to each model and photogs profile and contact those people directly whose look or style interest you..

POST your schedule on your profile..  That way people checking out your pics can see what times you have available.

My goal for these is not to just have a bunch of strangers get together and shoot random pics, but to facilitate some long term creative relationships in a fun and relaxed environment..

So USE THIS TIME before the event to TALK to each other and discuss ideas and finalize shooting plans... PM each other with ideas.. Use this time to get comfy with those you want to shoot with..

We are always looking for new faces, So if you know anyone who would benefit from joining in, feel free to let them know about it..

The only rule is that you have to be able to play well with others..  this is an Ego and Attitude free zone.. 


For those who have never been to one of my events and Before there is a mass panic by the culinary challeged, the Potluck Lunch rules are fairly simple..


We ALWAYS have our lunch at 1pm, (give or take any Coal issues) so we block out that hour for NO Photoshoots so people can relax together and get to know the people around them over a shared meal.


I ask each person to bring what THEY like to eat or drink and enough to share with 4 other people. If you bring Meat bring buns, if you bring Beverages, bring ice..

That way you ensure there is something there that YOU like to eat or drink.. and again, can share with those around you..

I always bring extra tubs and coolers to store things in for those who may not have one.

No cooking necessary.. So no worries.. There are more than enough DELI options and most people just stop by their local grocery store deli on the way to pick up something..

So as you decide, check the POTLUCK Signup list and if there isnt enough MEAT, or if you see something that hasnt been thought of, chime in..


We often have vegetarians and Vegans at these so if that is your thing, BRING what you eat because there will be someone else who eats it as well..

And some who will eat anything in front of them..  (names withheld to protect the less than innocent)...


I run these on the HONOR SYSTEM..  There will be a sign in sheet attached to the payment bucket (Ok, old oatmeal can) so you dont have to see anyone to sign in and pay.

IF YOU NEED CHANGE in order to pay, DO NOT take it upon yourself to open the oatmeal can.. Find someone who can make change for you. Again, this keeps everyone honest.

I've decided that I shoot short enough sessions at group shoots that I'll be scheduling 30 minute times instead of one hour times.  That's enough time to get a good representation of each look and will allow those working with me to either take a break or work with more photographers.

That being said...

We normally setup camp down by the FAR LEFT side of the beach near the remote bathroom facilities where the boats come in..

But I think this year we may try the other end of the beach, going towards the Marina.. the FAR RIGHT side when you are near the main entrance..

I will look to see if there are remote bathroom facilities on that end as well..

I will keep everyone posted...
