Using 2 lights.. (post images?)
(1am, didnt realise how late it was! will be back tomorrow to look x x) Can anyone post 1 or 2 light images created with JUST bare bulbs or with umbrellas.. Im trying to figure out the possibilities of using just this type of light I am either going to buy this kit 400/400 bowens gemini this week http://www.calumetphoto.co.uk/item/BW4717UK/ and a new lens in a couple months.. or im going to wait a few weeks and just get the 500/500 with softbox/umbrella instead of the 2 umbrella kit.. http://www.calumetphoto.co.uk/item/BW4305UK/ I really want to make the right decision, and I don't want to spend an extra £200 on something which a cheaper kit could possibly create the same light as the type of images im looking to make.. (I made a thread a few days ago asking what lighting some fashion images were, but even though i love the style, Id probably not start off trying those as they all had fashion models..) Here are some images from mm lists with variety of styles im more likely to want to try https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic … id=9649212 https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic … d=10674488 https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic … id=9638847 https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic … id=8281804 https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic … id=8381746 https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic … d=12067126 https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pic … d=13584209 (Ah i should have linked the forum code, nevermind lol) If none of those kits are what i should be looking at, please post some kits which are based in the uk around the same price if possible? Thanks all xx Jan 05 10 04:25 pm Link all the images beside the outdoor stuff is with two lights in my port that is.. Jan 05 10 04:32 pm Link Jan 05 10 04:35 pm Link Jan 05 10 04:36 pm Link Jan 05 10 04:42 pm Link I have two Alien Bees, so a lot of my work is some variation like you're looking for. The one linked below was an umbrella from the front, and a bare bulb from the back, but my whole bottom row, and most of the rest of my work posted here, is two lights. Hope this helps. Jan 05 10 04:47 pm Link you can do A-LOT with just one light and a reflector Jan 05 10 04:48 pm Link StaciC wrote: I use some cheap alien bees! Jan 05 10 05:16 pm Link Thanks!! lovely pictures Im mainly going to be staying indoors as i can't afford to get a batterypack yet Can anyone advise on whether the first kit i linked (400/400)could create simular light to the mm example links? Or if i should be looking at a different kind of kit? Thanks everyone x Jan 06 10 02:44 am Link Jan 06 10 03:16 am Link Jan 06 10 04:25 am Link Almost all the links the OP has posted can be achieved with 2 lights. http://www.flickr.com/photos/z-tox/sets … 979637019/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/z-tox/sets … 979696731/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/z-tox/sets … 104359460/ Were all achieved by using two canon flashes. You can do a lot with two flashes with umbrella's and softboxes. But I would recommend three flashes. Using three gives you way more options. Jan 06 10 05:24 pm Link Look on 'you tube' and you can see pro photographers and companies demonstrating the use of single light, two lights, three lights, one light with a reflector, etc., etc. you can see the results for yourself and its free. Just type in 'photography lighting' and you can get your answer. Most all of my stuff is with two strobes and a third strobe lighting the BG or as a hair light. take into consideration the color of the walls and ceiling if you will be shooting indoors in a regular space. best wishes! One more note--some of the 'lighting' you see is 'created' in post processing, not during the shoot.
