TODAY'S THEME: THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS

Congratulations to Ellen Griffin Photos for winning yesterday's contest with :

https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/100211/06/4b740dec2d2c9.jpg

Digital Art in this contest is as follows :

1. Photomanipulation (ie. Changed as if adding object , extracting , new background , elements etc.)

2. Painting (oil or anything else.)

3. A photo that has the same elements but is then rendered into a different photo , for example adding a third person , a castle and changing colors and hand painting it .

4. Drawing in photoshop,painter etc...

What are not considered digital art :

1. Photos right out of camera.

2. Photos only changed in color, saturation, or corrections.

3. Retouches (skin changes, smoothing and blurring, removal of blemishes and changing the overall color of background, clothes etc .... )

Please follow these. If either I or Chris finds that a picture seems to be only "retouched" or seems right out of camera we will disqualify it from the contest .

So in the future, please, take this very important rule into consideration .

Thanks very much and continue creating .

TODAY'S THEME : THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS
Saturday:              People Can Fly
Sunday:                 Action Movies

MONTHLY VOTE FOR JANUARY IS OPEN .

If you have won previous contests and want a large file for print from my collection, pm Tytaniafairy.

Here are the Rules , please read them before you enter.

1. One entry per person per day.
2. One vote per person per day.
3. No bumping your entry.
4. No vote stacking or asking for other MM members to vote for you.
5. Voting starts at 10 am the day of and ends 9 pm that same day. (MM time.)
6. No voting for an image you participated in creating.
7. To vote, quote the entry you wish to vote for and type "Vote".
8. Mature 18 + images are allowed but must contain a link and not the actual image posted.
9. Photo Artwork must be digital art. No photos right out of camera. This includes photo-manipulation, paintings, or digitally enhanced work to a more extreme measure. No photos that have been merely touched up (by touched up I mean to say, those that have been changed only in skin, like pimples removed, background or foreground color changes or corrections, change of color of clothes etc...), are considered a digital artwork in this thread.
10. Unlike some contests you may post a story to go along with your work.
11. If you enter, you are expected to vote. It's common courtesy!
12. No re-entering a picture that has already won .
NEW RULE :
13. You must post with your entry what medium and how you processed the artwork (example: Photo, new background, Painted etc. or Oil painted, photoshop etc...)If you do not post how you processed it and the medium, you will be disqualified.

Also, it was decided that whomever wins the contest will get a free fairy picture full size through email for you to print of any Tytaniafairy's Faeries/ Elves .

NEW MESSAGE FOR WINNERS :

At the end of each month, a thread with past winners of the month will be posted and we will all take up voting. Whomever wins, Tytaniafairy will personally send that winner a 20 by 30 canvas print of any of her faeries for free. A $200.00 value. Cotton canvas with sateen finish!!!

Vote and by all means, have fun!

There are 7 different 'pictures' in this image, although the only real photograph is the White house. The image consists of 17 individual layers. Aside from the White House and property, everything else is a digital creation, made by me or someone else. I created the image as an experiment to see what would happen if the really bad guys out there all showed up at the same time. We have a Borg, my favorite Star Wars villain Boba Fett, a Terminator and a Cylon Centurion. I wanted Darth Vader but I thought that would make this photo too unbelievable and I always go for absolute realism....
All in all, the image turned out exactly the way I saw it in my head when I started so I'm happy with it.

Do collages qualify?

https://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z92/ArunaDevi/PS%20Attempts/Pickme001.png

I got the background and picture of Tyson Ritter off of Google Images.  I erased Tyson's background.  I don't remember who they belong to, sorry.

The lyrics are from All American Rejects' Your Star.

The audience is all photos of me I shot in Mac Photo Booth, and I erased my background.

took a book photo and aged it and added a photo took a picture of my hand and my Sherlock Holmes old antique magnifier then added another photo (the photo itself was heavily edited)into the magnifier glass little tweaking and color layering.

The picture in the book is how we want other people to view us but the picture in the magnifier glass is our real reflection

Malice doesnt like you..

I stuck extra large cards to the wall and stood Mercy in front.
Once in photoshop I added topaz layers  to increase the 'punch' and drew in over the shadows and highlights with dodge and burn.
Ran it through alienskin, added a few more dodge and burn to the eyes.
Touch of colour balance.
Touch of gradient
Lens blur and then erase parts out
Eyes into colour dodge layer and fiddle with selective colour
Back through another topaz layer fiddle with opacity
More dodge and burn..diffuse, sharpen.

Ok as I said I am not being a cow but please follow the rules . If you posted a picture please give a description of your postwork or it will be disqualified .
I see 3 images on here that have no description as to how it was processed .
Please fix by the time the contest ends tonight or it will not be counted .

Thanks
Chas

Clearly everyone is not reading the rules before they post anything . PLEASE READ RULES before you enter .

Until everyone is on board for this I have decided to let it slide tonight . But you need to post how you processed your picture along with the picture you enter .

Read the Entire rules , esp rule number 13 . It is a new rule which is why I am taking that into concideration tonight as it was just changed yesterday due to problems .

We all want to know how you processed so I , Chris and others know without a shadow of a doubt it is what is concidered in this contest Digital Art .

If people continue to either A. not read the rules or B. Refuse to follow them I will be forced either to put all contests on hold or to shut down this contest completly .

I enjoy looking at all your guys artwork and so does Chris . We all are a community of artists and can either help push eachother to different levels or give up and just decide to not read the rules and postpone everyones fun and everyones progress .

All you need to do is put for example : Photomanipulations and added elements to photo and changed background . Something like this . It will take a matter of 30 to 60 seconds to do .

Thank you again .

A suggestion is that you put "Please read new rule 13" next to the day's topic for the next week or so.  Anyone who sees the topic should then also know to read the new rule.  Only a suggestion, your mileage may vary.
